Next year is going to be an interesting recruiting year from an instate perspective. IMO, there are several kids instate that would be very beneficial to us going forward. This may be one of the better (if not the best) overall classes from the state in some time.
There are 3 legit RB prospects out of Memphis (Kimbrow, Walton, Robinson) in addition to Mathers and any others East of Memphis. Then you have Browles (WR) out of Jackson. OL wise, you have 2 (maybe 3) SEC caliber prospects from Memphis (Still, Colcollough), and I believe there is at least 1-2 more across the state. In the secondary, you have Alex Dale out of Memphis (not sure what else is across the state).
I know that Memphis has often been a challenge for UT given the geography and what not, but Dooley and Co. have been well received by coaches and players so far from everything I have heard. In fact, it has been a lot more positive than it has been in recent memory.
last year it had to have been orleans darkwa......kid is tearing it up as a starter this year.
I really liked Darkwa coming out of Highschool. He almost had a 1000 yard season and was only the starter for the last few games.
He also can catch the ball out of the backfield pretty well too. I still think that a few BCS schools missed out on a good back.
