From what I've seen it will either be Dallas or Carter. Bowles and Croom are both wait and see. Howard wasn't very impressive this past season and should have been redshirted in my opinion. I suspect he will do better next season.

I hope I am wrong but unless we start to see some serious recruiting and that means Jan/13 we are going to get another round of DD. There are to many well established teams in the SEC and our pushovers are putting up a good fight. I just pray we can get some real play makers in January. I have not set down an studed the returning player around the sec but right now our team is ranked 40 th by Scouts.

I'm thinking Pig and Dallas. I think both will thrive in the new system. Croom and Bowles will be coached up to be great in this offense as well. Croom will be used much like the TE was at Cinci, who the announcers mentioned the other night, was the best player on the team. Croom was also recruited by CBJ at Cinci so you know he already has plans for him. I also think Que and Devrin will have a big impact in this offense as well. We definitely have some talent on offense to really work. Not to mention our awesome OL that's coming back.

I know this thread calls for speculation (and that's mostly what we do here) but it is too early to call IMO. Having probably lost our leading four receivers and starting QB means it is wide open. Most players make a big jump from freshman to sophomore year and I think Pig, Croom, and Bowles will all be much improved. Also, Dallas will become more of a target. My guess is Croom, due to his size and relative speed, will become the main threat but I agree that it is likely to be a committee type approach next year.

Pig's freshman season remind anyone else of Da'rick's? We got him in on a few kick/punt returns and a couple end arounds.

Maybe his sophomore season will match as well. The question is, are we willing to accept 5 receivers with 400 yards each if it means 8-9 wins? I am.

Soooooo.....what you're saying is.....we are already in the top 1/3 of the FBS football teams and CBJ has yet to sign or coach a single player on this team.......hmmmm.

I guess it's all in the way you look at it. 80 teams ranked lower than us already and our coach JUST got here. And at least one of our coaches isn't even here yet.

I'm not sure about "best," but I expect Pig, Carter, and maybe Dallas to be the top guys next year. If North ends up choosing us throw his name in maybe.

My only concern with Dallas is that his hands have been somewhat inconsistent. No telling with a new staff and system how the depth chart ends up though. I'm pretty sure in CBJ's offense route running and consistent hands are the most important things for WRs to do well, so I'm not so sure how Croom will fit. ZR would have been a beast in this offense though, its a shame we're losing him.

it is time for tennessee to show they can utilize a big, physical wr for more than red zone scenarios.

i think this offense lends itself to senor croom

Good morning,VolNation! I was wanting yalls SPECULATION on the wide reciever corps. Who will lead in YPC,Total Yardage, and TDs? We really need guys to step up. WHO? GO VOLS!

(1) If the new starting q.b. struggles early, then the Tight End will get huge numbers. Tight End will be his safety valve if/when he gets in trouble...

(2) If the new starting q.b. excels and a "go to" receiver emerges, then I suspect it will be Crooms.

Definition of best will help answer the question. IMO we will have a balanced passing game in CBJ offense with multiple options. Lane or Neal should see several balls thrown to them in new system. If I picked one receiver as a " go to guy" right now, it would be Dallas due to experience. Young guys could change this opinion with quick development.

I think it will be Bowles or Dallas.

I think Howard will touch the ball a lot but it will be situational...sometimes through the air, sometimes on the ground.
