It’s truly puzzling to see how we went from the most potent offense in the nation to this disgraceful, incompetent bs inside of 12 months… No doubt, the loss of Hooker, Hyatt and Fant were massive; I think Coach Golesh is the bigger loss. Heupel looks absolutely clueless.
Don't slit your wrists, buddy, it's really not that puzzling:
-- There has not been a lot of depth in the program since Pruitt and the 20+ transfers
-- Vols were replacing the best QB in the program since Peyton. He made everyone better
-- Vols were replacing 2 of the best WRs in the last 15 years. Hyatt arguably the best UT WR ever. They made the QB better
-- Vols were replacing an OT who did not give up a single sack last year. He made the QB's job easier
-- Vols lost 2 of the top 4 WRs in the rotation in the las month. The backups were not ready or not talented enough
-- Vols only had 2 proven SEC LBs coming into the year and one of them is injured before the season started
-- Vols were already weak and short handed in the defensive backfield and have lost 2 CBs and at least one safety to injury. Had a walkon at CB
-- Vols have lost to injury a couple of very good OL. The back ups are not starter material especially if 2 are on the field at the same time.
-- Vols came into the year with only one scholarship QB, 2 walkons and a skinny true freshman on the roster.
Until folks like you give Heupel to build some depth in the program, the Vols will continue to struggle to overcome injuries during the season. Last year's class will add some talent to the roster next year and this year's class is shaping up to be very good. It takes time.
Vols should end the regular season at 8-4 and y'all are whining about it. Heupel isn't happy either but you have to be realistic about what you watching.
