Who wins the SEC this year?!

They'll be better, but both had a long, long way to come. I still think they're both on that second tier behind Ole Miss. Both might be threats in the SEC tourney.

Anyone know what Georgia ended up with this year?

I disagree. I believe both will be better than ole miss. Better coaches and I think they have better team make up and better stars than ole miss

About your question, 4 of that 5 can shoot 3’s, they could be the starters, or, Rickea likes to play the 3 position, we could pull Tess and insert a rebounder in the 4 position, possibly Jillian, Sara, Striplin or whomever shows they can rebound, make put backs, and can also block out opponents to help Rickea, and anyone going in for a layup.
Just the Addition of Tamari Key gives all of our shooter's extra space immediately. Defenses her freshman and especially her sophomore year had to play down to help with her size. Rickea is an absolute nightmare at the 4 spot because of the mismatch. If they go big against her she can step out and shoot the ball. If a 4 comes out against her she easily gets to the rim forcing Tamari's defender to help. If they play her with a smaller player or even someone about her size at the four or smaller, she is a bucket in the post immediately. Kellie frequently played Rennia, Rae, and Jordan 2-4 depending on matchups. I don't expect her to play Rickea any differently this year. The only player to have more 20 point games in a row at Tennessee than Rickea was Kellies maid of honor at her wedding Chamique Holdsclaw. I am calling it now; Rickea breaks that record this year. Rickea looks like she has been working on her game, speed, and strength every day. She is stronger, thicker and seemed faster at the Americup Games. If she gets the handles a little more under control, this is a big breakout season for an already established great player.

Texas A&M and Mississippi State look extremely talented on paper. Those starting fives are really good. Depth-wise is where those teams may struggle. Lane Park steps right in for Mississippi State at that point guard spot they add Barnum who had a huge season last year for Arkansas and get Carter back. They are going to be tough. With A&M adding Rogers, Coulibaly, and Ware who are all-conference performers to Janiah Barker should make them crazy good. Joni Taylor, not so much, but they will beat some people this season.

I don't really fully trust my pick but I would say LSU for the conference title, and UT or the gamecocks for the SEC Tourney. I do feel strongly that whoever wins the regular season will not win the tourney this year. There is too much competition at the top. I also agree with folks who think that LSU will have some struggles this year with being the returning champion, having so many NIL opportunities/distractions, and a question of how this team with so many potential stars will mesh.

Everything after Tennessee, South Carolina, and LSU in that order is a toss-up. Tennessee on paper has improved significantly despite the injuries last season coming off an exceptional showing in SEC play in 2022-2023. Tennessee had no business losing to Mississippi State on the road last season and probably played as poorly that game as they had in SEC play and still took it to overtime. Jordan Horston played 5-10 minutes the entire game. Players such as Striplin, Darby, Puckett, Tamari, and Powell being able to fit in their role is where I see Tennessee getting separation in the SEC.
Hollingshead, Rickea, Wells, and Spear all have the ability to carry any team in the SEC offensively. Adding Talaysia Cooper is going to be an unknown spark for this program because despite her redshirting when she practices with the team it’ll give our guards better competition and help improve this team as well as individuals.
I don’t see Tennessee losing many if any conference games beyond 1 or 2. I know people on the outside and locally won’t pick them to finish in the top 2-3, but this roster at full strength is outstanding. I don’t see a single flaw.

Folka here have anointed Wells and Spear to echelon which will see guard play overhauled........
That's why they were picked up out of the portal. Overhauling guard play was a stated intention of the program, not just here. Everyone and their grandma said lack of speed and lack of consistent shooting from the backcourt was a major problem last yr.
