so i have not really seen anyone talk about this but..

as we know Les Miles is on the hot seat in Baton Rouge (which i think is brilliant bc Nick Saban got them a crystal ball in 2007 ) and that beggs the question...who would LSU hire to replace him in 2011 if he gets fired after this season??

ill hang up and listen.....:good!:

LSU is still a top-tier destination. As long as they're willing to reach deep into the coffers, they will get an A list coaching talent.

Think they could pull will muschamp and his coach in waiting-ness away?

They'd give Mendenhall, petersen an patterson a look

Sure. Given equal pay, I'd say that Texas and LSU are nearly equivalent jobs. Slight edge to Texas.

Michigan would be absolutely insane to look at Les Miles. Any team with hopes of a national championship, would be insane to look at Les Miles. The Larry Coker analogy is proving itself to be correct.

Plus, if Rich Rodriguez gets pushed out at Michigan, I would think Jim Harbaugh would get call #1.

It'll be interesting to see who LSU finds. I wouldn't be surprised to see Les Miles pushed out, if they have a bad season this year.

Wouldn't be so sure. Rumor is Bo and his brother haven't endeared themselves with the regents. Not sure how true that is but he hasn't recruited well either. Plus, Nebraska is that potential Top 10 preseason team that many expect to fall. Could easily see them 7-5. They were trying to run Callahan out of town when they were 4-3 in '07 (L's to USC, Mizzou, Okie State). Eventually ran him out before the last game...when they were 5-6.

Pelini also makes $2.1m. Turner Gill, who has had one winning year at a MAC school, makes $2m as the new coach at kU. Miles makes $3.75m. Pelini would jump in a heartbeat at something in between- say $2.75m/yr. Could just simply come down to cash.

I'll give that you are obviously a Big 12 (at least for another year) fa, so you might know more about it than me, however....... they WERE one kick away from winning the Big 12 and that was NOT just because of one player. Endeared to regents or not.... if you win it doesn't matter, and this hasn't been proven to be a Charlie Weis type of situation. I think I will give Bo the benefit of the doubt as far as job safety at Nebraska.

i think they would hire Kirby Smart from Alabama. same thing with gerogia. i think the next SEC job (other than Vandy) that comes open (wich is probably going to be georgia or LSU) Kirby smart will take the job...

I agree. Although I'm not completely sure that he would take the South Carolina job if that were the next vacancy. I think people are going to be scared of that opening. "If Spurrier can't do it" will be the line of thinking.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Kirby sit and wait on Richt leaving.

He's in a great place and it's only a matter of time before Richt is ran out of town.

Yeah...that would really help when spurrier retires... we need to dip back into the south carolina talent again and now with UNC and Clemson back on the rise.. we dont need anyone else messin with south carolina recruits... those our OUR recruits...NOT clemsons.. hahah:dance::dance2:
