Who would you add??

Let’s say from 2002 and on you could add one defensive and one offensive player to this current team. Who would y’all pick? Doesn’t have to be one defense and one offense but that’s what I would do. I think it’s a no brainer that I’m bringing in Eric berry and then this defense just becomes unfair. Not to mention our punt return and kick returns which haven’t been nothing to write home about become something special. As for offense it gets tough. Meachem would absolutely eat in this offense as would cordarelle in my opinion. But is an offensive lineman more important or even a veteran qb. **** even jauan or Derek Barnett aren’t bad answers. End of the day it’s berry and jauan for me. Really wanted to take a qb but I feel like Nico is okay and jauan would be a game changer for him. Curious to hear who y’all would add because you could make the defense even nastier or be surgical with the offense and it could be just what we need. Go Vols!! And we gonna kill the cats this weekend believe that

Hendon on offense. Berry on defense. I think with Hendon, we are the clear best team in the country this year. That’s not a slight to Nico. He’s doing fine. But he’s a freshman and really look for him to make a huge sophomore leap.

No disrespect to Nico but I would take prime Hendon or Dobbs over him right now in his career. I would rather take another offensive guy and get another healthy OT. If I have to take a defensive guy probably would be Eric Berry. JRM would also be freaking terrifying in this defense; people forget how good he was.

He has 10 catches this year. He had 17 last year. Not sure how to find his total targets but I know he's had a few more targets that were incomplete.

Just for sake of argument, Bru/squirrel leads the team with 20 receptions each. So they throw it to him 2-3e times a game, in addition to his 25 touches running the ball.

I do think some of the lack of throws are due to the Blocking/Nico hearing footsteps issues and would expect that number to grow closer to 17-20 designed passes by the end of the year.

I also think that number grows with AK.

Eric Berry for sure on defense. Offense gets a little more difficult. I guess the "easy" answer is Hendon Hooker but, man, Cordarrelle Patterson would be such a devastating weapon in this offense. They way we do the wide splits to create space would fit him perfectly. Just get the ball to him, in space, anywhere on the field and let him eat. KR/PR would be absolutely terrifying to opposing teams with CP, too.

Eric Berry on defense and Jalen Hurd on offense.

Hendon Hooker and Eric Berry. And it’s not close on either.
