2002 and on...
Offense - only one it would be either Trey Smith or Darnell Wright
Defense - agree with most Eric Berry
Special Teams - either C Patterson or Velus Jones Jr.

Talking all time...
Offense - give me Casey Clausen. He would feast in this offensive scheme.
Defense - Al Wilson or Reggie White. Both would be forces of nature to deal with.
Special Teams - can never go wrong with Fuad Reveiz.

Hendon and Jaylen.
I like your selections. Adding Hooker and Hyatt would turn this back into a 40 plus point per game offense; Sampson is doing just fine as is and would only be helped by more defense stretching from Hooker/Hyatt. OL Pass pro is adequate with a more experienced qb making quicker decisions. Nico would also be a great backup qb in case of injury. The defense is already playing championship level ball so I would focus on the offense. If required to pick a defensive player, I like everyone’s Berry selection.

I'm agreeing with the Hooker/Berry combo.

I'm not sure "a" OL would make as big a difference as Hooker being QB and we've already got the SEC's 2nd leading rusher and soon to be school's all time single season rushing TD leader so I'm ok with keeping Sampson. At WR I'm just thinking it's more a matter of the QB taking advantage of opportunities and believe Hooker could make the difference with the current WR group.

On D I was tempted to take a LB since we lost Pili, either Mayo or Burnett given the since '02 timeframe, but Berry is just so transcedently good no matter how good our D is now he'd make it better.

I don’t see picking a RB. Would you want to take any touches away from Sampson? And if you add Eric Berry do you bench Will Brooks?
I’m going way back to take Jerod Mayo as a plug in replacement for Pili.
And Josh Dobbs on offense, because he doesn’t need blockers to do what he does.
If I can’t take Dobbs then I’ll go with a Tackle, Darnell Wright.

Eric Berry and Juwaun James/Darnell Wright/Trey Smith (I'd take any of those OTs).

Casey was there through 2003. I think he's a pick

Eric Berry for sure on defense. Offense gets a little more difficult. I guess the "easy" answer is Hendon Hooker but, man, Cordarrelle Patterson would be such a devastating weapon in this offense. They way we do the wide splits to create space would fit him perfectly. Just get the ball to him, in space, anywhere on the field and let him eat. KR/PR would be absolutely terrifying to opposing teams with CP, too.
Cordarrelle Patterson in this offense would be insane- might win the Heisman

I'd add David Cutcliff, this Heupel offense is nothing special unless it runs at up tempo, he'll even Stoops can figure it out

First off you spelled his name wrong and then go look at our offensive numbers and where we were when we had Dooley and Pruitt. Think we should be a little humble and pleased where the program has came from those days 😂

Man, Ive read some takes. But this is, special.

Cut is a great coach. What he did in '07 was special. But the man couldnt recruit. Didnt think he needed too. And dont say he got Pey'un. Peyton didnt go to Ole Miss bc of how they handled Coopers injury.

One thing Cut DID do was visit his NFL friends, and incorporate new wrinkles. Got too pass happy at times, and forgot about run game. Lack of playmakers lost us games.

Stoops is not a good coach bru. This offense isnt playing well because of its own reasons, not because of what other coaches are dialing up. IMO.

The Huepel offense is dynamic. When run well, it cannot be stopped. Golesh has a mastery of it. Really fun to watch USF run it.

We beat Florida, Alabama, and Kentucky.. what are you mad at with the coach we have!! And you wanna talk recruiting look at the qbs we even have coming in. We aren’t dumb and if you don’t think we have come along way from the days of Pruitt and Dooley then you are in la la land. On top of that we need to make sure we keep Gardner and banks around to keep the ball rolling. You do realize we are 8-1 with a redshirt freshman at quarterback right? Be blessed

Deer lord, man. Use a comma.

We have done decently with QB room, yes.

Is that Huepel, Halzle, or Spyre?

Would agree about Banks and Garner. But what does that have to do with Offensive production? Really Garner is a shadow of his former recruiting self. Coach Chop is the one you give a title, and 'retain' all three.

We are 8-1, because of Dylan Sampson & our Defense. Nico has been good, not great. Let's not pretend he is singularly the reason we are where we are.

Additionally, I absolutely do blame offensive recruiting on the staff. Further, I also blame lack of Oline development on Glen Elarbee. Penalties, sacks, and lack of consistent push against inferior opponents. Its inexcusable Y4.

Our oline is average at best. Not having great success on trail for two cycles hurt us at that position. Also, running back. Why have we struggled to get the top RB talent, in spite of now having two, maybe three 1,000 yard rushers? Lewis and Seldon may be that guy, but right now. They aint.

Listen, there is no better coach for us. I think our frustration (or mine) stems from fact that we are so close to turning the corner, it is frustrating.
