The defense is a lot different from last year. I'm glad that they can finally force turnovers but we still need to work on our pash rushing and get stops on 3rd down. Other than that I'm very pleased with our defense so far.

For the most part, good players play good and great players play great, and anything you see different is coaching. I saw a lot of good players play great Saturday.

Just watch the video, not saying these guys are all SEC, just all team/family and they're having fun and playing relaxed. We'll see if they stay that way under the pressure of Autzen and a top team but there's a whole new vibe on the defensive unit.

Who knows? With a little luck and a few breaks, we could come out a winner......but not likely. It does however. serve to get the team ready for UF. Good preparation to get used to team speed, and a running QB.

I do believe this UT team with Butch and co. will give the Ducks a good game. I believe we'll get to see just how much resiliency this team has.

You do realize last year Troy ran up and down the field and had about 700 yards? And we kept hearing last week about how this year's WK team is better than Troy? Are our fans ever happy? Damn.

I find it strange that people would say WKU.is a terrible team. If they're terrible than we're slaw because those two big backs ran the ball down our throats. AJ got ate up for a touchdown. I could go on. Don't be surprised if by the end of the season they're in he top twenty five. Some of you can't stand giving credit where its due. That being said we kicked their azz.

We're happy in real life.

We just come to VN to get rid of the negative waves.

We DID NOT MANHANDLE WKU for 60 minutes. A middle of the road SEC team should have shut them down period. This game should have been much like last weeks game but it wasn't. That is what has everyone concerned. Am I or the others on here unhappy? Hell no! Are we concerned about getting our heads handed to us in Eugene? Hell yes! The sunshine pumpers can't live in reality, you have to either be all in 100% win every game take no prisoners. Everyone else are unhappy negavols. Back off the crack pipe boys, it's gonna be a bumpy ride this season and possibly next, but it is gonna be a ride!

I think they will be at the top of their conference....don't know about the top 25.

The D is definately improved. Hard to tell how much due to the caliber of the competition.

They still were having trouble getting off the field on 3rd and long.

The secondary is far and away the most improved D unit to me. Receivers running around without any orange in sight is greatly reduced from last year.

Sapp is playing very well (minus the one play where he ran about 20 yeards with his back to the reciever with the ball). His strip / fumble recovery was text book.

My biggest concern were WKU's ability to run up the middle. If you notice in the stats, the leading tacklers were the DB's. Johnson did not have an all-SEC caliber linebacker game against WKU. Got to figure out how to avoid the 50 yard runs off tackle.

Also, McCullers is not playing like a top NFL draft pick so far. Heat and humidity are more troublesome the larger the person so hopefully the cooler climate in Oregon will bring out his best.

Agree with your assesment of the game, but completely disagree with the rest. IMHO, I don't believe AL or LSU would shut out WKU. I'll be very surprised if WKU doesn't go to a bowl game.

Guys WKU is a good team with a good coach that knows how to scheme for success. I thought our defense played really well Saturday. The WKU offense will prove to be more challenging than several of the SEC offenses we will face. Our defense will only get better (barring injury to key players) as the season progresses and they get more comfortable with assignments. We should be getting some key players back this week too. I'm not saying we are a top 20 defense, Just better than most of you think.

Well put. Hopefully Maggitt and Jaques can get back in the lineup and change that a bit!

Our run defense is very stout. Our pass defense....primarily our backers in coverage leaves somethings to be desired. Overall I am happy with what we have. They will work with our linebackers more to fix some of the mistakes. We are in for a good year ya'll.....

if you guys can't see a team coming together, playing for each other and holding each other accountable, I don't know what to tell you. This will bring wins. Not this year. But soon.
All the individuals that ostracized staff and players are gone. If it happens again, we have the staff and players that will fix the problem now instead of letting if fester and ruin a locker room/team.
It's fun to watch a team that plays for each other, even when we lose.
