Who's going to be Vols next QB?

A bunch of fools on here. Let's just "chuck" the most prolific QB in TN history besides Peyton for 2 unknowns. Neither at this point could carry Bray's jockstrap. You better be careful what you wish for. Probably two more defeats if Bray leaves. Two totally green QB's with a bunch of green new receivers what a recipe for bottom fishing.

I agree with you on this. Bray could work a spread even if he can't run. I'm not even sure if our massive OL is truly spread capable. They're, strong, but slow. They're best as pass blockers and road graders.

I agree with you for another reason. I don't think Bray got coaching that developed him as opposed to letting him rely on his sheer talent. If the new QB coach develops Bray, spread or not, he will be Aaron Rodgers dangerous. The Bray haters on here are just loudmouthed, instant gratification children.

Kinda early for this but I'm going with Worley.

Would love to have Bray back but I think he's going to the big show.

I'm not a Bray hater, but putting aside Kentucky, name one, a single SEC quarterback he outplayed head-to-head last year? He doesn't think quick on his feet, doesn't have a particularly quick release, and can't run. If he got outplayed head-to-head in a pro-style offense, what do you honestly think will happen to him playing out of the spread? I think he'll get outplayed head-to-head again. I personally think someone with better mobility and some experience playing in a similar offense has a much better chance to succeed in the SEC running the spread. I don't really know enough about the other guys to garner an opinion on them, but I do not believe Tyler Bray as a quarterback will lead our team to SEC victories. He's had his shot. Yes, defense was terrible, but he was not much better with the game on the line.

I once watched an amateur boxing match. There was a big guy, around 210lbs. There was a scrawny looking guy around 170LBS. Scrawny was a regular at gym where a former boxer tutored him for a year and a half. Big guy figured since he hit hard with either hand, he'd win. Scrawny whipped his butt using technique. In other words he'd been coached up. As I said in my original post, I don't believe Bray got the coaching he should have instead of letting him rely on his sheer talent. So why is it a surprise he often got outplayed head to head with QBs who did get such coaching. Add that to the dropped passes of his elite receivers and again, what's the surprise? The fact you completely ignored my statement about his not getting the coaching he should have suggests that contrary to your claim, you're a Bray hater. I understand, we're all frustrated and human tendency is strike out at someone to vent that frustration upon. But Bray doesn't deserve the venom some insist, yea, demand be vented here.

Glad you added that.

Question...Would Tyler had lost those head to heads if he was playing against our d last year instead of theirs?

Bray would have averaged 37 td's/game against our D last year. That's to say, no, he wouldn't have lost those h2h's.

I think Worley will get the nod at the start of camp, but watch Peterman beat him out before the start of the season.

What's all this talk about CBJ using the spread, I may be wrong but I thought I heard him tell the players during his arrival speech he was going to use a pro style.

McCullers probably won't get too many downfield blocks, but Mack Crowder WILLexcel in this offense. He is great at getting to the next level. He will frustrate several middle linebackers!

Didn't Bray get hurt and thats why he had to play? Not defending CDD but I don't think there were any more options. If Kiffy would not have run off Boyd we would have had more options.
I think he's got what it takes to be a solid QB. To bad he burned a redshirt to play for a 5-7 team bc DD is a moron IMO.

This, he got put in a horrible situation, where nothing was working on Offence. He played well in one drive this year. It looked like Cp turned the wrong way, but without knowing the play call, I'm not sure.

I don't have a favorite, the way I look at it. may the best man win.

Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to knock Bray or hate on him at all. Its just that if I were in his position I would declare. He is a pro style qb. Staying another year in a new spread offense is not likely to help his draft stock. His numbers are already very good. He just doesn't have much to grain by staying.

Getting Bray to play one more year would be a hard sell with the offense CBJ runs.

Not really. Come back for one more year let's break all the records set by Manning and try leave UT with a legacy. If Bray stays we ll be chucking it all over the field next year. I think Bray stays this year. That Oline is going to be really good next year.
