TN having issues signing a stud RB since Hurd and Kamera and before that Lewis .. Ga , Aub, LSU, Ala and some others always seem to get the stud 4 and 5 star guys. We do need a strong runner who can run thru arm tackles.. we dont have that at all

Well recruits should realize this is a totally different coaching staff and sports administration at UT. I just don't understand what's that problem. Signing a huge o-line will help but only so much.

When the staff turns these 3-4 star recruits we're getting now into 4-5 star players they will come. It won't just be the bruising RBs.

I agree on wanting a bigger back (why can't we have both big AND fast?). On the other hand ... barry sanders 5-8 200, walter payton 5-10, 200, emmit smith 5-9 210, kamara 5-10 (listed 215 now, surely lighter as a Vol)

We need to recruit running back that are at least 200lbs to begin with. Packing on 20lbs or more of muscle is reasonable as a player while being at UT. Coach has said he wants this to be a power running team, you have to have big back for that. Then again, if Cheney keeps running the inside zone runs and toss cracks a massive back isn't entirely needed, also isn't the identity of a power run team.

Fair enough. If the man is agile I suppose that works just fine, especially catching passes. My mind is on the while low center of gravity, less body area, bowling ball ideal of a running back fit for a power run team.

Once they get above 6-1-ish, chances are it isn't going to work out. That doesn't mean there isn't exceptions, I'm generally suspect on any RB over 6-1.

If a big back is needed, he’s a big back. Who knows. Not saying he put up Derrick Henry numbers in HS (he didn’t), but was Henry said to be an LB in college because he was 6’3”? Not to my knowledge. If Hodge can’t cut it at RB, move him.

John Riggins is 6'2"
Steven Jackson is 6'2"
Franco Harris is 6'2"
Marcus Allen is 6'2"
Ricky Watters is 6'1"

Oddly enough it's almost a 50/50 split to all time NFL career leaders being over 6'0" or under 6'0" don't forget that HS "fluff" too, Hodge may be closer to 6'0" than 6'2" depending on how his height was measured.

I think 5'10" to 6'2" is the perfect "range" for RB height. And my favorite RB of all time didn't fit into that range (Barry Sanders).

Point is Hodge is a big back and I've not heard anything to speculate he's not planning to be a RB in college.

this. he may very well get moved once he gets on campus and goes thru more evaluation etc....but he's been recruited as a RB, will sign as a RB and i think will get first crack at being.............a RB.

D. HENRY can flat out fly. No comparison between the two, i dont care what theyre saying he runs over in Blount County

Do we have any 5* players realistically on the radar? Or is this going to be a class of 4*?

Not that I’m complaining at all, just curious
