Brady should not be considered for Coach of the year...take away either Big Baby or Tyrus Thomas and they have a losing record in the SEC...you could say that about Pearl/Lofton also...I look at what Brady had last year and what he didn't do.
Harsh though it is, I'm inclined to agree. I'm not sure what to say about Brady through all this. I mean, last year we were all but calling for his nuts on the chopping block. This year a final four. Has something changed with him? Or just the team? Who knows. No matter how good the talent, tho, final fours are hard to come by without at LEAST a decent coach, seems to me. If he pulls through and wins it all, he'll be my candidate. But even getting to the final four, or even to the final game, isn't by itself enough for me, or most other Tiger fans.

At least the SEC coaches don't have as much egg on their face as we thought for voting Brady the league's COY. While I still think it should have been Pearl, I'm also a Vol fan... Brady is just making these guys look good now.

I'd say nationally... still BP. The Man made such a DIFFERENCE. Not just coaching his TEAM, but coaching his FANS.

Chemistry and a little Freshman talent as in Tasmin Mitchell & Tyrus Thomas helped LSU

As stated before the coaches historically vote for the coach of the SEC Champion

A vote for Williams is bending to mindless hype. Anyone with an ounce of ability to truly analyze this would have to vote for Pearl. That's what I hate most about basketball. There are too many outside influences from the officiating to TV ratings and corporate AAU kingdoms and connections in recruiting, deal making, etc. That's what I like about Bruce Pearl. he appears to be an open book, and will squeeze every ounce of potential out of his players to compete on the highest level. He's the real-deal! HE IS THE COACH OF THE YEAR!

So do we not realize that is has already been scratched down to the final four people? We have Williams, Pearl, Wright (Villanova), and Hobbs (George Washington). Now let's actually pick someone who can possibly win it.

If you look at the different programs, given the talent that was there, given the athletes that were on the bench waiting to play, given the previous years record, given the recruiting class you are getting, da da da the list goes on. I don't see how you can't say that the Bruce of Pearl is Coach of the Year.
