id say johnny unitas. not elway. the only reason elway won his superbowls was because of terrell davis. montana is ahead of elway.

Saying Elway ONLY won because of Terrell Davis is like me saying Montana ONLY won because of Jerry Rice, Roger Craig, Dwight Clark, and John Taylor.
no no no no no. montana won without everyone of them. elway didnt get over the hump until he had a pro bowl back. like davis. montana won his first without rice or craig and the rest without clark. montana was the man.

People love to hate the best.

Peyton Manning
The Patriots
Jeff Gordon
The Lakers
The Yankees

Most of the things I mentioned I even hate, I guess it's just human nature to want to see the best fail.

jeff gordon? give me a break
I was actually referring to his earlier days.

Peyton needs to come out next year and say "screw the team, it's all about me", just like Randy Moss, TO, and Ricky Williams do/did. Then, everyone will love him, Super Bowl ring or not.

(end sarcasm)

Ray killed a man. Need I say more? He is whats wrong with sports today. People accept behavior like his R Moss, TO, Joe Horn etc. What is the common tread of these guys? Answer this and you have the answer to the problem!!! Thanks MLK!

Unless Peyton learns how to play defense, he's going to keep on losing in the playoffs.

And what, exactly, are you implying?

must i list more examples of behavior like Pistons/Pacers, Latrell Spreewell, Dennis Rodman, Dale Carter, Kobe Bryant, Dodgers Outfielder behavior, Clemson and SC etc to figure out the common thread here. C'mon, wake up.

Yeah, I've woken up to the fact that football and basketball are sports predominantly played by blacks. It is a stastical probability that any crime committed by players of either in the college and professional levels will be by them because they consist an overwhelming majority of the players.

That answer is called JUSTIFICATION. The color of your skin does not excuse your behavior. No excuse when the statistics are that tilted against them. Then ESPN/National Enquirer makes excuses for them with comentators like Stephen A. Smith, M. Irvin, Sannon Sharpe, Stuart Scott just to name a few. :bad:

I'm the only one that I know of that's saying this, but I think the problem may lie with Dungy. Look at all those big time players he had in Tampa (where they actually spent money on the D), yet the playoff results are eerily similar to the Colts. I don't think he can coach up the team enough to win the big games. And given the talent he's has access to, that's a pretty bad reflection on him.

The Colts need a playmaking linebacker, and a shutdown corner in the worst way. If I were Manning, I'd restructure that contract to get one or the other. Troy Aikman did it in Dallas. There wouldn't have been a 3rd SB if he hadn't done it.

No athlete should act that way. But the only reason black athletes are overwhelmingly more noticed in committing crimes than white athletes is because black athletes overwhelmingly are the top players in all sports, with the exception of baseball.

Speaking of which, baseball being the only one of the three major professional sports in America to still have a considerable amount of white athletes, is riddled with steroids problems. Many cases of which are white. Many also hispanic and some black.

It's all directly proportional. The cases of crime or otherwise poor activity you hear about in the NFL and NBA coming from black athletes over white ones is about proportional to the amount of black athletes they have in those sports.

Athletes of all races live with the same consistency of disciplines, and there is nothing more than biased speculation that proves otherwise.

is it directly poportional that 83% of all crimes in this nation are committed by non caucasian people? Is it excusable the idiots on ESPN speak a language not recognized avywhere else in the free world? Don't justify wrong or stupidity. There is no excuse for either regardless of culture.

I'm not positive, but I'm guessing this isn't the proper forum for such a topic.

That's just me.

Of course, I'm just an old, fat, white guy. :D

What is that supposed to mean?

I'm sure a lot of people around the world wouldn't dare to attempt to decipher a lot of our Southern Gibberish-Drawl, either, but that doesn't make us any less human, with entitlement to the same rights and respect as anybody else.

Sure, many black athletes come from poor neighborhoods without a stellar education and having to fight for their lives since they were only children. That's going to translate into later problems. But remember, much of the social disparity that exists is, at least in part, due to the segregation and racism that plagued this great nation for decades.

Now, the sins of our fathers are behind us. Welcome to the 21st century. We're all here -- care to join us, old-timer?
