Because we are the Tennessee Volunteers, and an undefeated National Championship every year is what is expected. :birgits_giggle:

If we don't show some signs of a comeback, we will fall off of the national stage. We are already fighting an uphill battle.

UT has their backs against the wall, and expectations will be low. That usually translates into nine wins (sometimes even ten). Most SEC east schools will be breaking a new QB in. So we are at least equitable at that position even if Crompton starts.

Have you noticed that Fulmer has done a good job at lowering our expectations as the season went on especially in 2000 and 2002 and now this season.

I wonder how Oklahoma fans are doing right now... Or Michigan... or Michigan St., or...

Bad seasons aren't rare, they're just rare for the Vols, and rare to be this bad.

Well wouldn't that make them rare then?

I mean they aren't rare around the country. We're just spoiled with an 80% winning percentage over the past 14 years.

Who in god's name said expectations were high next year?

I am not sure I have read one thing that says we will do better then 8-3 next year

Not be high? So who exactly is calling for a fantastic year?

People aren't saying we will be great thus creating great expectations...people are saying we will suck due to this season.

Of course...but who is placing high expectations on us?

Anyone?

All I see is people saying we will win between 5-8 games.

That isn't high expectations whatsoever.

You then have those saying we "must" have a great season to save Fulmers job but that isn't creating high expectations....because those same people are saying we barely compete next year

Point taken but all I meant was we sucked so bad this year you would have to expect us to be better next year, either that or get the prozac script refilled.

Without doubt, Jr.

But I really don't consider 8 wins to be high expectations.

I consider high expectations to be 10+ wins

Until UT gets better coaches, look for UGA, LSU, UA, Auburn & USC to kick our behinds most years.

Thank goodness Coach Miles & LSU looked like complete idiots in the second half of our game this year. Otherwise just think what our record would be. And maybe be thankful U. of Memphis was without one of the best rb's in the country in our matchup.

UT has got as much talent as anyone dare I say better than most, they simply have a pathetic coaching staff, especially on offense. What a surprise.
