Why cant we have a mediocre opponent this week?!!

The only thing about the next 2 weeks is physical football. What doesn't kill you will make you stronger....At least we have attitude going into the next 2 games. Ask the players they love the challenge. I personally expect to win one out of the next two. Or better yet 2 out of the next 3 and then the bye.

6-1 at home this year.

I really wish we could have Vandy, KY or Auburn this week. This team just pulled off an monumental, program changing win...and how are we rewarded?? We have to travel to play Bama!! NOT FAIR! lol It just sucks that we have all this positive kharma and momentum going only to be put right back to reality by those fa hqs in Tuscalooser. Call me a whiner...whatever. Im just sick and tired of seeing teams like Ohio St have a yellow brick road to the OZ every year, while we play 8 top 15 teams!

I truly believe if we had Auburn at home this week, we'd carry this momentum with us and beat them. Now, that's not to say we wont come Nov 9th, but this trip to Bama comes at the worst time. But, some may say it comes at a great time because of the big win and confidence level. Guess its all how you look at it!

Geeezzzzzzzzz what a typical Vol Fan!
Sux it up, tape your ankles and let's gettur on!!

Another way of thinking about it...... the University of Tennessee Football Team has approximately 80 Million Fanz pulling, rooting and hoping for a Vol Victory. Now there is something that doesn't happen every day... :eek:lol:

People who think auburn is "mediocre" or gimmick are in for a rude awakening. Auburn is a really good team, and is actually a mismatch for us schematically.

A "gimmick" that just beat A&M on the road and has gotten better every week. Not to mention that UT doesnt match up well against their offense.

I understand they play a similar offense to Oregon, but there is a bit of a difference in our defense now as compared to when we played Oregon. We have learned to do a better job of containg since then.

And apparently we have learned how to take QB's out of a game.......literally.

This schedule is brutal. No. 1, 2, 5, 9,10, 16, and two others in the top 20. Really it is ridiculous, no one team in America plays a schedule like ours.

Not a big fan of this saying. Do you think Shaw or USCe is better off after his knee was blown out? What about Georgia with all their injuries? These are good examples of when you play tough physical teams your are not always better off. The wear and tear on players over the course of playing physical football every single week can hurt your football team.

This doesn't mean in anyway that I advocate for a weaker schedule. We have to play who ever is on our schedule regardless.

You are right in the sense that in order to make yourself better you have push the limits of your ability. Playing tougher opponents can make you better in the sense that it prepares you for other tough opponents.

As to the schedule.

It's the SEC and we have been around for a while so it shouldnt be a positive or negative but just the reality of the situation.

We consistently play one of the top 3 hardest schedules year in and year out, with this season being the toughest in the nation. Just have to buckle down.

To be the man, you have to beat the man...

Ric Flair

Whoooooooooo

Beat me to it.

Mizzou was supposed to get hammered by UF's awesome D. Playing with a backup RS freshman QB. They only hung 500+ yards that awesome D.

Any given Saturday my friends.

Playing crappy teams is for pussies. Rather go 6 and 6 with this schedule inthis conference and know 2 years from now it will be 10 and 2 against the same teams...
