As much as his dad and him complained at Marquette about him playing out of position ,I find it funny he is not playing at all. Like I said the VOLS were lights out till he became eligible and Pearl complained for a week about it
Like I said in another thread. Maymon may bolt after this season. I'm sure it's not working out like he wanted. Maybe a D-II school will be his home soon.
This -- he could definately help imo -- he is young, he is relatively quick on his feet - the best rebounder on the team -- based on rebounds per minutes played and brings as much energy as Pearl. He had one poor game, doesn't handle the ball well and hasn't shot free throws well. Pearl doesn't handle the ball well and doesn't shoot free throws well either. As a sophomore he has a lot of upside and of course Pearl has no upside.
Anyone who thinks we are BETTER team with S Pearl on the court is "severaly mentally challenged" in the sports category. SP does not make this team better; the last two games he has not hurt the team like he typically does. S Pearl sucks whomever thinks he is good just don't know what good is.
Let me, a Marquette fan, offer a little insight on Maymon. I appreciated what he could contribute as a freshman, namely, strength on the boards, albeit without much follow-up ability on the offensive end in terms of put-backs. Some of you also recognize and appreciate the relatively limited skills he has.
You folks clearly have an issue with Pearl vs Maymon, but I'd suggest to you that this will not be an issue for long. Why? Maymon's father simply will not tolerate his son's benching, and, in fact, had demanded that Marquette run their entire offense through the kid, who the father sees as a sure thing NBA shooting guard.
Maymon will be gone, transferred, after this semester. I'm not sure what his bailout team is, but I'm thinking maybe mid-major or even non-Division I.
Good luck. Seems like a good, but limited skills kid, with a father who is destined to ruin his kid's education and basketball opportunities.
