They both hate the Big 12 championship game. For now, that's possibly a thing of the past. Funny how the top dogs in a league always end up getting what they want one way or another.

Im sure they'll drag us all though this again in the next 3-5 years if everything stays put. Thats why I dont mind leaving now.

On the one hand, I think it would be good for A & M to get a chance to get out from Texas' shadow. On the other, because of the lop-sided nature of recent history versus Texas, you guys would look like cowards if you left when you could have stayed with them.

Cowards hell. I wouldnt take it as us running from anybody by joining the SEC. They'd love to have someone to blame for the destruction of the Big12. I'd be happy to be that person. To hell with Austin.

This is the 2nd conference they've wrecked. Why should we stay with em to watch them make it 3 in a row, all the while getting treated like a stepson and playing them "close"/ maybe winning a football game, against them once in a while. Screw em. They can keep their damn tv program and they can keep tech, baylor, and all the others.

I think you would likely be an Ole Miss/Arkansas type team in the SEC: middle of the road most years, but occasionally make a run on a year with weaker than usual LSU/Bama teams in the division and vying as a spoiler in the conference championship game.

I suppose that's better than never whiffing at a Big 12 South title.

I f****** hate Texas more than anyone. But I have to say, they've played this beautifully.

- They make $2 million straight up (Colorado and Nebraska each pay $10 million split among the remaining 10 Big12 teams)
- Further consolidated power in their conference
- Received confirmation that OU is 100% their b****
- Negotiated a better tv contract
- Negotiated to get their own TV network (so that when conference expansion happens again in 5 years, nobody will be able to tell them that they can't have the network, because it'll already be there).
- No more conference championship game, a game which they've always hated.

Edited to add:
- Received confirmation that their conference commissioner is their b****
- Chip Brown is now their puppet and they know they can manipulate any message they want because he's screaming for attention and will report even the slightest lead that comes his way

Would you agree that this is an optimistic forecast, though? Because it could be that you are not much better off than before, in football. The only difference is you would at least have a recruiting and marketing angle that distinguished you from Texas, that might help grow your athletics.

The best part of this is watching Castiglione and Dodds do to Steroid Tom Osborne what D-X did to Bret Hart: Run him straight the Hell out of town. Enjoy those trips to Bloomington and Evanston, Doctor Anabolic.

I don't blame you and no fan of football that spent time on the txs message board would blame you either. They make the most obnoxious of Bama or Gator fans look down right humble. I've lost all respect for txs, I'll never watch one of their games again, unless we meet them in a bowl somewhere down the road.

Tom Osborne is the biggest fraud in college football history. For all of his sanctimony and piety, his program was built on his ability to convince 180 pound hayseeds to shoot their bodies full of PEDs and keep the prosecutors in Lincoln from throwing trash like Lawrence Phillps and the Peter brothers in cages where they belonged.
