Each season draws to an end and I can't help but have this fear that we won't be able to reload at positions that produced well over the year. In 2012 it was at the offensive skill positions, 2017 it was all the champions of life, especially Dobbs, JRM, and Sutton. Last year I worried about losing Theo and Alontae. This year I shutter at losing Hyatt, Young, and Hooker...

Don't worry, it's just a bit of hangover from Battered Vol Syndrome. We've all had BVS since 2010. Rest, clean living & belief in CJH, staff, recruiting & Vol payers is a good remedy.

The obvious answer it that you need help. It appears you're treating UT Football like life and that's not good. Try to separate sports from real life and be happy :):)

You're in good company, QuarterSawnVol (which sounds so much better than "TigerStripeVol", speaking oak-ly). We've all been there, and even the most optimistic of us has moments of "what if..."

Be of good cheer, my brother. The country and the world may be going to hell in a hyper-drive hand basket... but the Vols are in great shape for the future. I'd just as soon be in Neyland Stadium with 100,000 faithful as any other place when the great WEF reset button is punched!

All this remains to be seen. I HOPE we can become a program that can "reload" each year. Are we there yet? I'm not so sure. We really hit the lottery with Hendon Hooker and a lot of Huepel's early success must be attributed to him. I'm not saying we wont have success with Milton next year but I dont think it will be to the same degree. Realistically I think we come back down to earth a little next year and finish 8-4 or 9-3. Then, hopefully, the reign of Nico begins!

Squirrel will be a viable replacement for Hyatt, we will miss Hendon but after the bowl game I am much more optimistic about Milton and we have some studs coming in on defense, I think we are going to be ok.

Can it not also be said just as easily that Hooker hit the lottery by having Heupel as his coach and that he owes much of his success to Heupel's coaching? It isn't as if he was some sure fire star when he transferred here - quite the contrary, in fact.

Flashbacks are a common symptom of BVS.

It’s called Battered Vol Syndrome. And it’s real difficult to overcome.

I’ve had a personal policy that I’m not in or not our coaches until after year 3, but I’ve seen enough. I trust Heupel and am not worried about it. Even if they don’t get the same type of players they are replacing, he’s shown he can coach teams that aren’t always as talented as the other team. Don’t sweat the small stuff.

I've had bad (rubbing alcohol) and good (smooth with a bite). I prefer barrel aged from the store but an occasional sip of good "mountain spring water" is really nice. I'm a big fan of hand crafted products (made is USA USA USA) and it doesn't get more hand crafted in USA than this.
