Why do so many B-Ball fans.....

Basketball will always be second to football at Tennessee, that's just the way it is.

Well somebody better tell Texas they have no business having a good basketball program then, since they love football more.

And I wasn't aware we are as simple minded as Alabama fans so that we can only enjoy one sport.

And the facts in question are?

Not that I expect to get a response or exhange. Your MO seems to be to hit and run.

I assume this was directed at me, but the facts have to do with the comments above about Florida that were clearly wrong about their history and then applying them to expectations at Tennessee. When we started paying top money we have a right to higher expectations.

The OP you quoted was the one who said that Pearl lovers don't deal in facts based on Hat's post. The second posted that Pearl haters don't deal in facts. There were clearly factual errors at issue that the OP was talking about in his post.

It was directed at golf437. I was trying to get him to engage in conversation. But like most Pearl supporters whose basketball knowledge couldn’t fill a thimble, he made his comment and ran away.

because decades of mediocrity calls for realistic expectations, not magical championship runs. Improvement is better than most programs are getting, much less wins and conference titles in the same conference as UK and UF. I don't think SEC championships, yearly NCAA appearances, and overwhelming winning percentages against conference rivals are "low" expectations, or accomplishments.

You are exactly right. But, there will always be those that will not be satisfied unless we improve on the year before. Eventually that becomes unrealistic...

It becomes unrealistic when championships are being won. (Finishing first in your conference division is slightly better than a participation trophy but not a championship by the way.)

How exactly has it become unrealistic? Are you saying it's unreaslistic to expect this year's team to improve from last year's team?

I believe that is a given. But with all due respect, he didn't ask why UT basketball was not the top priority or if would ever be in Knoxville. There is no rule that says a football school cannot have a successful or elite basketball program. In fact there are many who presently do and have in the past had more than one sports program that is highly successful.
