Why Do We Feed The Trolls?

I'm swearing off.

I hereby affirm, promise and decree that I, OldVol, will cease and desist from feeding Trolls from this point forward and forevermore. I will abstain from responding to their posts, and I will actively recruit all of my faithful Vol fans to join my crusade to starve these smelly illiterates.

I will no longer respond to their posts, and when I see they have begun a New Topic I will not give them the satisfaction of seeing the number of views rise above zero.

I realize this may take some adjustment and I am aware there may be some lurking who we are not aware of their Trollness. However, those whom I know to be, such as … well, you all know who they are. I will avoid.

I also agree that should I fail to uphold to any or all of the elements of this pledge that I will willingly submit to the ridicule of my fellow posters without antagonism.

If any of you, and hopefully all of you will promise to join me in my crusade to rid ourselves of Trolls, please copy and paste the sentence below and fill in your name to the blank area.

I was always leery of lawgator's Trollness.

Some of the recent LSU visitors were for certain worthy of the Troll distinction. Then, there's always a Bama Troll lurking just beneath the survace of the waters, hanging out under the bridges.

We will starve them to death. We will not offer up opportunities for Troll comebacks.

I mean, I do technically meet the definition in that I often post for the purpose of yanking your collective chain. But, there is a way to post so as to playfully needle versus antagonizingly harass. A fine line sometimes, but one well worth walking.

Yes. Trolls thrive on response, any response.

The only way to kill them is to ignore them.

When they see no responses to their posts, they dry up and die.

The only good Troll is a dead Troll.

One definition of a troll is one that only shows up the week of the game and has nothing but fat jokes , conspriracy theories, and "ya'll suck and we don't" posts, then they're gone. Taking friendly jabs at one another is different and crossing the line happens to the best of us, and that is ok too, as long as you come back after you've crossed it.

Trolls use language such as Phil, UcheaT, and other such descriptive non intellectual diatribes.

And yes, it was a compliment. But you ARE a Gator. I can't let it appear as if I like you. I do have a reputation to think of. So this will just be betwixt you and I.

Even though you are a Gator, you may join in the fight to eradicate Trolls everywhere.
