Why does Aaron Murray get so much respect?

I am not saying he is not talented or is not good. However, he would have to be exceptional to save UGA this year. And some have him as the number one QB in the SEC. Statistics wise he will not be in top 3. I would not be surprised to see him outside top 5.

Murray is the real deal folks. The kid surprised the he!! out of me last year. Murray did not look like a first year starter much last year, the kid knew what he was doing out there for the most part.

One thing to keep in mind. Coach Richt and UGA always does very well when he returns the starting QB. Murray should not be any different in my opinion. The kid is a leader on and off the field, works his azz off, and is a football junkie.

I know my UGA bias is obvious but don't be surprised if Murray is talked about for the Heisman. I know its early and all but I thought I'd throw my bold prediction out there.

How many wins do you see UGA getting this year?

I'm not a Murray believer. I'm on the "he'll look bad without AJ Green" boat.

And while I know it has no bearing on what kind of QB Murray is, but he wasn't the best QB on that team during the Spring last year.

Expecting another thriller in Athens when we play yall. I hope Lattimore has the same kind of game. :)

Murray will be fine without AJ. Everybody knows AJ is gone, Murray does too.

Trust me when I tell you this, Mett and Gray were not going to start ahead of Murray. I know people like to bring it up but it was not going to happen. I do believe Mett will have a solid career at LSU but he was not ready to step in last year, Murray was.

I'm counting down the days. The USCe game is always one of my favorite games.

Big John Jenkins, Kwame Geathers, Jarvis Jones, Christian Robinson, Alec Ogletree, and the rest will have something for Lattimore this time. Lattimore is an outstanding back and he must be stopped if we expect to win.

When it happens just know we have been there. Got nothing but love for ya.

He might get Heisman talk with 9 wins, but he won't get a Heisman.

Who do you foresee as likely 3 losses?

I agree with the Heisman talk. Its more of a popularity contest now anyways.

I see us possibly losing to 4 teams but not all of them. I believe 3 of our losses will come against 4 possible teams.

Riddle me this. If Mettenberger had stuck and UGA finished with wins and loses to the same teams with him at the helm, would you be calling for Murray?

Got to throw Tech and Auburn in there. Never know what is going to happen in those games.

Murray was not the reason why we lost so many games last year.

There was several other factors that hurt our team. Murray was actually the only positive we can take from last year.

1. We broke out a new Def. scheme and we did not have the right personnel or enough experience with it.

2. Our O-line play was embarassing.

3. Our running game was non-existent and inconsistent the entire year.

4. We had a discipline issue with some of our players. Some I agree with and some I didn't. AJ suspended while other players for other teams were ruled ineligible for one day and then reinstated the very next day. We suspend a player for 2 games for a suspended license or an unpaid speeding ticket.

I cannot put last year on Murray.

I thought about those 2 but I feel pretty strong about those 2 games.

Our depth is too much for Tech and they're also breaking in new players at key positions.

We get AU at home and Athens will be rocking for that one. We owe the Barners big time for last year.

I'm not saying that Murray was the reason you finished 6-7 last year, and I agree with many of your points on why it happened. I wonder though if you had another quality QB on the roster, which you really didn't last year, if you'd be calling for the other guy in the same situation.

It's always one of my favorites. This past decade, it has been a pretty darn good game to watch. Since 04, they have all been fun to watch, minus the 06 game (which was fun for you to watch :) ). The winner definitely has the prospect of a great season setup.

There is also Miss St., Kentucky, and Vandy. All are toss ups for UGA this year.

CC and NM st. are sure wins though.

Have you not lost two starters over the summer (one to injury, one to academics) on the OL?

You had better hope Crowell stays healthy or guess what? Your running game is still terrible.

When has UGA not had discipline problems?

Yards: 3,049..............1,849

Murray had a very good O-line to block for him and the nations best WR

Bray had 3 True Freshman blocking for him and a 5th round WR.

Murray against USC: 192 yards
Bray against USC (2nd half only): 159 yards

Murray against Vandy: 287 yards
Bray against Vandy: 232 yards

I'll take Bray

Our O-line has some boys ready to take off that nobody expects to. Burnette, Bennedict, Lee, Houston. We lost a couple of solid guys this year but I think we'll be fine.

I'm not really worried about Crowell right now to tell you the truth. You should not forget about King and Malcome. I know what's been said about King but this kid is on a mission for his last year. Malcome is a kid that will surprise some folks next year. Crowell will come along just fine too.

UGA has had plenty of discipline issues in the past. Nothing so far this year. (knock on wood) We have some players on our team that have stepped up to become leaders and hold the rest of the boys accountable, Murray is one of the leaders and alot of our boys look up to him.

Murray will be fine next year, we expect big things from him. He may not turn out to be the best in the SEC, if you want to anylize stats, but I believe he will get the job done.
