He is the Asst of the year but I have not heard his name come up one time not even for the FIU job.

Probably because of how bad of a year he has had defensively as a coordinator......You know that ole' saying "Offense will win games but defense wins championships"

Because some people aren't meant to be head coaches, and after this year with the talent we had and have alot of people are frowning on him and I am one.

Some people are not approached because teams KNOW they won't leave.

People will attack this, but I think his heritage has something to do with it at certain schools.

Makes 2 of us.....I will say this though....I think that losing Harrel and Inky had a lot to do with how bad our defense has played since the Florida game

The media did bring that up about Norm Chow anytime he didn't get a job but he stayed at BYU for 27 years. Is Chavis doing the same thing? Is he content at UT? I am just curious I don't really have an opinion on it one way or the other.

he has always claimed he is very content here. But many many people say that and still get offers. That's why I asked this same question the other day.

Norm Chow defintely aspires to be a head coach. I don't know about Chavis.

John is very happy at UT.

I won't speak for him and say if the phone rang, that he wouldn't listen, but I really feel in my heart of hearts that he wouldn't leave Tennessee at this point in his career.

Now, if Phil left and he was part of the staff changes, I think he would look for another job.

Ive always wondered why as well. Or why Fulmer doesnt get offers to go to the Nfl...wait, I know that one.

You act as if NFL GMs and owners are falling all over themselves to hire the top college coaches. It doesn't work that way; especially for guys with no NFL experience.
