He's a Junior.....He may pull a Manning and stay for another shot....

"They never change their coaching style. It's always up tempo. They always want us to be perfect in practice," said redshirt freshman Aaron Douglas, who may just replace Eric Berry, Montario Hardesty and Jonathan Crompton a year from now as Kiffin's program model.

Because his parents are unemployed and he'd like to help his family.

Because he would be risking injury and losing millions of dollars if he came back.

Because the only thing to come back for is pride and records, when he could have those plus a pay check.

etc.

Ummmm, $$$$$ and the fact that we're probably not going to be much better (record wise) next year.

$$$. Plus he could step in the NFL and have a shot his rookie year. A position like quarterback is a little different. We all know Manning was great but the extra year in college was a good move for him.

i will give you four good reasons:

1. look what happened to sam bradford...
2. his parents are currently unemployed
3. CLK talks as if it's already understood he will leave after this year
4. the NFL is going to be completely different after '10 with regards to rookie salaries and a possible lockout

He will probably be a top 5 pick in the draft and that means HUGE $ . He risks an injury if he comes back and would miss all the money . Think about it . Peytons family has money Berry's dose'nt .

Eric will prob get somewhere around 15 mil guarenteed to sign and if he comes back he could blow a knee and get no guarentee.... what would you do?

plus this upcoming draft will be the last without a rookie salary cap. that will be a major sticking point of the new CBA between the Union and the League.
If you wanna see the big bucks in your first contract, this is the last yr to do so

EB 2010 = NFL

i dont think it is guaranteed he goes, but probably 90% chance. he really really wants to win a sec championship though. he has to see how realistic that actually is after the season.

the other 3 are good reasons as well, but if he comes back he is going to lose $$$ even if he gets drafted at the same spot next year....

Sam Bradford. Jermaine Gresham. Ask them why Eric Berry should go to the draft now

^This Plus just look at how easy Nick and Savion went down!! No freaky hits just plain bad luck.. This beast has been here through enough crap then this year gets this staff to give him the knowledge to move on and get paid like he has earned!!

I don't assume anything but I am taking an educated guess that he leaves. The odds of him improving draft status over hurting them are not that good. He is already projected to go at least in the top 5-7 spots. (I could be wrong)

I recently read an article from an NFL scout grading the Juniors that might leave early. He was the only one of the 6 the scout said was NFL ready and make immediate impact for a team next year.

Manning's parents weren't unemployed with two more kids to support.

Exactly! Eric's father got laid off a while back and his family needs money ASAP! I believe no matter how much Eric might WANTTT to stay, he's NFL-bound! Besides, put yourself in his shoes... he's a top 3 pick, why risk getting injured in another pointless year of college? He's already proven he's the best defender in the nation! All we can hope for is he lands with the Tennessee Titans so we can still see him on Sundays!!!

I will quote Good Will Hunting when I say:

"He has a winning lottery ticket. All he has to do is cash it in."
