Why has Heup been so succesful bringing Vols back from the dead

It started on the day Josh Heupel taught the lads how to play dodge ball.

Seriously.

He walked in the door and said, "I love you. I'm here for you. You are my family. I'm here to help you succeed. Let's have fun. We are not going to make you adjust to our system, we are going to mold our system around your abilities. We are going to put each of you in a position to succeed. We won't run a play until you are 100% comfortable running it. And that's how we're going to win championships. With love, and support for each other."

Those aren't his exact words, but they are his exact messages.

He started off by changing the culture. Fixing the culture.

And then, once he got that started, he honed in on football.

Leadership. Values.

Those who don't have them think they're just words. In truth, they are the most powerful forces at play when two or more people gather.

That's how he did it.

Go Vols!

It's funny we will be playing against one player in that video this week.......the Florence Falcon; Dee Beckwith.

Culture and an offensive scheme that is almost impossible for opposing teams to simulate. I read an article back when Nebraska fired Frost that suggested he was lazy and may have an alcohol problem. Oh and if they had waited just a few short weeks more to fire him, the buyout would have been cut in half. That should tell you all you need to know.
I had forgot about the drug problem................it tells me Neb. has money to burn; the was stupid.

Installing a healthy culture where everybody is bought in.

Being a brilliant offensive minded coach.

Being luckier than a 3-peckered dog in a humping contest by having Hooker on campus.

No one has mentioned what came to mind first for me, "he has the right QB." Where Frost didn't.
