Why have we stopped going fast??

Cooper Mays' replacement...good enough young feeler probably but lacks Coopers natural ability to kick ass on the O line.

2 walk ons were playing Oline last night. Not a recipe for a successful ground game

If that is the case in which many people have stated in previous comments about processing the offense, then why isn’t Gaston Moore not starting or at the least in consideration? He followed Heupel here from UCF and knows the offense. He also looked the most crisp and poised in the spring game. Something just seems amiss.
Heupel has benched Joe before for Hooker. So that means he will bench Joe. The fact that he f do pedant tells you neither Nico nor Moore and ready.

I think it is JH loyalty to Joe, but loyalty can hold you back and cost you sometimes. I can tell you this if JM starts out next week in first qtr like against Florida he will get booed out of the stadium.
The fans have appreciated JM but their loyalty is not is much more thin.

I don’t even know why Mays dressed, it was obvious we weren’t playing him. I we don’t get him back soon we need a tryout there. Ollie and Davis aren’t getting it done. GBO

We’ve have gone from warp speed to stopping and looking at the sidelines every play. We finally went fast in the second half for a series and had Florida on their heels.
This offense runs so much better when they get to the line and go. Defense isn’t even set some snaps. Why have we quit?
I have asked the same thing. Why are we not going at warp speed. The only thing I can think of is maybe Milton can't do it?

I think it starts with our Center woes. Keeping 6 or 7 in for extra protection and still whiffing on blocks makes me think the center is not making the right protection calls to begin with.
I totally agree, Mays being out is a huge blow...I also think the WR are not getting the separation of previous corps ...this causes Milton to take either wait for separation or burn in a fastball....if he wait the OL doesn't give hime time, if he burns ones it's a 60/40 chance of drop

Penalized what? 10 times? Can't go fast when you're constantly shooting yourself in the foot. Yeah it's Oline, Milton, the fact that no receiver gets much seperation. The OC is going too have to help Milton out more. He obviously can't run the offense from last year so he needs to tailor it more for him. It was actually a bad time to switch OC's because that hurt this team too. Find your go to receiver and feed him, find a back that can catch out of backfield and feed him. Take a deep shot or two. What they need to stop doing is running bubble screens and getting holding calls called on the receivers. I understand the numbers call for it, but that can't be your only plan of action there. The offense overall looks like a mess. If the new OC can't handle it then Heupel needs to take over.

Pretty sure we, keyword here, TRIED to go fast all game but false starts and delay of games prevented that.

To me it sounds like Milton is struggling with the play calls and just can't determine them fast enough. Our offense might be too fast for him to keep up with. Hence the delay of games.

It is a combination of the o-line being terriible and Milton's skill set not being the right fit for this offense. With pass protection this bad Milton needs to make a quick read and if nothing is there then take off running. Milton cannot make decisions that quickly and does not like to run. It is going to be a long year.

My completely uneducated guess is that Milton is not confident in his pre snap reads and is looking to the sidelines and that is causing us to slow down at times, when we should be picking up the pace.
When he runs the fast, scripted offense and just goes out there and plays, he’s fine.

We line up quickly, but we don't have to snap it right away. We can see if the defense is ready, look to the sidelines for a play, or shift to see how the defense responds. We can snap it at any time in that process.

There was plenty of hurry up and wait last year, as well. We just executed better.

The players they have in key positions this year are not as capable as the ones that ran it last year.
