I don’t have a continuum , I don’t look at a dog and say based on my continuum scale you will or will not bite me according to the laws of probability with X >Y . New Jersey man caught with arsenal of guns, Nazi paraphernalia, slave ‘manual’ – cops

The alarming discovery came after Joseph Rubino, a Lafayette Township resident, crashed his car in Sussex County on July 24. Authorities said state police noticed an unusual number of weapons in his vehicle while extracting him from the car and immediately applied for search warrants.
A search of the car turned up a semiautomatic handgun, a semiautomatic assault pistol with a high-capacity magazine, a loaded pistol, two shotgun barrels, a set of brass knuckles, a wooden ax handle, a wooden baseball bat, a large amount of ammunition and several other items, according to a criminal complaint.

A raid of his home allegedly turned up a grenade launcher, an assault rifle, two semiautomatic rifles, two semi-automatic handguns, at least three shotguns, multiple high-capacity magazines, a variety of firearm parts and ammunition, a ballistic vest, about 2.5 ounces of methamphetamine and more than six pounds of marijuana.

He obviously didn't acquire those weapons legally so stricter background checks wouldn't help here and it's very likely that as a criminal he'd just ignore any weapons ban or mandatory firearms surrender policies.

He should have never been let back out into society. I say find the people that sold him the guns and go after them and if he was able to steal them the owner should be held accountable for not keeping their guns safe. Accountability should be addressed. .

My only issue would be if stolen, by whom and when, and how many hands have they passed through since then, before he got them.

Depending on time and circumstances involved I'm not sure the original gun owner should be held liable.
