LAPD confirms 40 Arrested during Violent Transgender rights protest where members of Proud Boys and Antifa clashed outside of a Koreatown spa

Los Angeles police confirmed on Sunday that 40 people have been arrested following a transgender rights protest outside a spa in Koreatown on Saturday.

Officers fired non-lethal projectiles to disperse the unruly mob, which became violent when Proud Boys and Antifa members joined the trans rights demonstration and clashed outside the spa.

The spa, Wi Spa, was also the site of protest on July 3, and some suspect that the video which sparked the anti-transgender protest was a fake, Slate reported.

LAPD said in a statement on Twitter on Saturday night that smoke bombs and other projectiles were thrown at officers trying to break up the crowd, and stun guns, knives and pepper spray were confiscated.

Antifa Sympathizers Celebrate Death of Washington State Sheriff's Deputy

Twitter accounts linked to the leftist activist group Antifa rejoiced at the news that a Washington state sheriff's deputy had been shot in the head and killed.

"A @ClarkCoSheriff deputy was shot in the head near Portland (in Vancouver, Wash.) overnight and killed," journalist Andy Ngo tweeted Saturday along with screenshots of tweets he claimed were linked to Antifa. "The suspect remains at large. Antifa accounts have been celebrating on Twitter in response."

The accounts posted by Ngo show users with Twitter bios using terminology such as "ACAB", which stands for "all cops are bastards," and responding to the news of the deceased deputy with mocking comments such as, "Cheers, I’ll drink to that."

Another user reacted to the news with "TAKBIR," which refers to the phrase "Allahu akbar," Arabic for "God is great." Another user with the Antifa logo as its profile photo celebrated the deputy's death by writing, "I'll bet his pig family is crying."

Calls to defund the police, a move promoted by prominent Democrats nationwide, were also seen in several of the bios and tweets.

Through violence and its ability to create extensive support systems, Antifa looks very much like early National Socialism.

It would be a mistake to confuse Antifa with either classical anarchism or Marxist-Leninism. Although it borrows symbols and historical heroes from both, together with anarchist black flags and clothing, Antifa is distinct from older leftist movements. Other promoters of the fascist threat also supposedly hide behind misleading labels, which renders them particularly insidious in the struggle against bigotry. It is precisely the cleverness with which fascists and their sympathizers disguise themselves that, according to Reid-Ross, necessitates the cleansing operation of antifascist groups. T. Keith Preston, an historian of anarchism, has noted that Reid-Ross and other defenders of Antifa usually sound like “John Birchers of the Left.” Like the Birchers who imagined that Communist agents were in disguise and had to be exposed, the antifascists have their own version of the hidden enemy, whom they are trying to combat.

10 anti-fascists charged for alleged attacks on California pro-Trump protesters: 'Violent criminal acts'

California anti-fascists face charges such as assault, conspiracy to commit a riot and illegal use of tear gas

Prosecutors in San Diego filed charges against at least 10 anti-fascist protesters who allegedly tried to disrupt a pro-Trump rally earlier this year with "violent criminal acts."

"Video evidence analysis shows that overwhelmingly the violence in this incident was perpetrated by the Antifa affiliates and was not a mutual fray with both sides crossing out of lawful First Amendment expression into riot and violence," District Attorney Summer Stephan’s office said in a news release, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

The defendants "are self-identified to be affiliated with Anti-fascists or Antifa" and gathered on Jan. 9 in San Diego to take "direct action" against a pro-Trump "Patriot March," according to the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office. "Direct action" is defined as "acts of violence such as assault, battery, assault with deadly weapons, arson, and vandalism," according to the DA’s office. Police declared an unlawful assembly the day of the clashes.

They face charges such as assault, conspiracy to commit a riot and illegal use of tear gas. They’re accused of using tear gas, sticks, flag poles and other items to attack the Trump supporters, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported. The case is allegedly the first to use conspiracy charges against suspected Antifa members, the outlet reported.
