Why is everyone freaking out?

We won the game, in what way did we "almost have our asses handed to us"?

Agreed wholeheartedly. I'm not happy with the performance of the team for four quarters but I was pleasantly surprised about the team's initial focus and performance in what was a significant trap game (week after UF and the week before UGA and the gamut of SC and Bama thereafter). Moreover, South Alabama had just beaten WKU, a team the fanbase was, more or less, happy about beating a few weeks back. South Alabama's roster had several transfers from big conference teams--some of which were high level teams like Alabama--and possibly a NFL player or two. UT dominated them after their first drive until near the end of the third quarter. UT had trouble sustaining concentration, effort, and execution and appeared to coast and start thinking about UGA in the second half. Is the second half acceptable for UT? Of course not. No one is happy about it. But, learning to win and not playing to the competition or coasting after opening a big lead (i.e., playing like a champion) is a process the team is going through right now. Plus, the roster--due to attrition and poor recruiting--is showing right now. If we have these issues in year 3 of CBJ, then we may have a problem, but it is way too early to know right now.

The Defense was on the field a lot, but showed up when they had to.....The offense got some points ahead and then went to bed, led by a useless QB, and a loafing "PIG"and never showed back up until Tiny showed his a** after the game was over. If a freshman looses a game at least he's learning......Worley just doesn't show any guts, desire, and improvement.

:cray: Wahhhhhhh!!!! Wahhhhhh!!!

My goodness.

What MENTALITY???? These loser fans don't have the mental capacity to understand where the program is. They beat their chest and blather things like "no excuses", "fire the coach", "it's all Worley's fault", yadda yadda yadda.

This team is exactly where we thought they would be at this point of the season, 3 and 2. It will be a huge bonus if they can luck out a win in one of the next 3 games. It will be a pleasant surprise if they hold 2 out of 3 close. It is an almost a certainty we will be 3 and 5 at the end of this stretch. This is no excuse---it's reality.

It is almost a certainty, barring injuries, that the team will be much improved for the November run where we need to win 3 of 4 games to get to a bowl. I would expect both Worley and the young receivers will go through the fire and be much better. If a freshman QB is ready, put him in. If we can get to a bowl this year, I will be happy. The cavalry is coming next year to get some speed on defense and we will be on our way to the top.

You're preaching to the choir. I was talking about the mentality of all these idiots that call themselves fans, yet never hesitate to spew negativity about their team at every turn.

Georgia won by more than a touchdown. It was close and then they put it out of reach. North Texas didn't lose to a team the caliber of Southern Utah. I think North Texas is better team than USA.

And Georgia is way better than us, so it's a wash.

Is this one of those "every one think and say the same thing as me or shut up " threads? If people want to complain about the game they can. You know what you're getting when you come to this site after a game.

Because we are supposed to be the crap out of every terrible team we come across just like in 1998! O wait, we only beat Auburn by 8 that year and their record was 3-8.

And struggled with UAB through mid way of 4th quarter.

I thought a lot about this last night. We have to root for Butch. If he doesn't do well, then he won't recruit well, and we will be in an even worse situation in 3 years. Either he does well or UT is doomed for probably 5+ more years of irrelevance.
