Why Is It The Espn Overracts About Everything?

ESPN throws puppies into a furnace to produce the energy needed to operate their satellites.

I don't think espn is the end of the world and it kills me that people believe espn is out to get UT. I just think they do a horrible job of reporting. It would be much easier to just show every nba, nhl, and all the major NCAA games and throw in the major games coming up. Instead we always get a Red Sox/Yankees story and a T.O. story. I didn't make it to the remote in time last night after the butler game and one full day after the knight incident that was still their leading story...

Anyone hear Keith Olbermann -of MSNBC on Dan Patrick show yesterday on ESPN radio? IT was crazy what Olbermann was saying about Knight. He describe his problem as mental health and the only thing to do was to remove Knight from the public. I guess he wanted him in a rubber room or something.
I mean't to turn in to his show on MSNBC last evening but forgot. MAybe he'll go off tonight. For the most part, Keith has always had a level head. But there's something more there with he and the Knight family.

Hey did anyone watch the Bama-Lsu game last week on ESPN (I didn't because came on a little after our fiasco)? Rick and Bubba on the radio show that they have here in Alabama were talking about some new ditzy sideline female reporter that ESPN had, who in a half time interview with Shula said "That was a CUTE play that scored the touchdown" and she went on to say that she saw the offensive linemen "HUG" Shula after the play.

Bubba said that words like cute and hug don't deserve to be uttered in the manly sport of southern football and if not careful some of thes gals will try to hang curtains on the sidelines!

Olbermann is level headed? In Bizarro Universe, maybe.

i would agree that i normally find olbermann level headed at least w/ sports. seems to be able to look at things from an outside observer's perspective. perhaps that's why he's no longer w/ espn. dunno why he'd go off on knight like that though

You and about 300 million other people forget to turn on his show on every night.

He's always trying to bag on O'Reilly. Olbermann is to me an extreem liberal. Like the thing about mental health and Knight. You kidding me? Mental health.

I really think some people (Olberman) just take the side of devil's advocate just to get ratings and look as if their seeing things from this totally other view where they look like they're better and more enlightened.

If there were more Bob Knights there'd be less whiney ass kids in college sports that misbehave.

People over look the fact that the man is about to become the most winningest (is that a word?) coach in NCAA history. There's a reason for that. That's sucess, no one will be better than him (which Olberman doesn't know about because O'Reilly has owned him in ratings for some time now). People know where Bob Knight stand. He's not wishy washy. Thats what I love about him. You know what your getting Bob Knight, all the way all the time.

I don't think they have some sort of vendetta against the Vols at all. I will say that they were making a BIG deal about Bobby Knights situation in which (almost) everyone agreed was "no big deal".

Mike and Mike, Colin Cowherd & Dan Patricks show were all about Bobby Knight. I turned it off after about 30 minutes of them saying the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over...

I guess because Knight has bitch slapped the media for years - any excuse and they will turn a crack into the grand canyon. This is, as someone else pointed out the media creating the news. Usually when they do this its alot more transparent. This time it is like a neon sign. How very sad, musta been a very slow day in sports news - I suppose they didn't want to talk about the BCS....again.

Because ESPN not only covers the sports world, they try to create the news that goes on in it.

Anyone see Jay Bilias and that Dan Gottleib go at it over the Bob Knight discussion yesterday? Jay Bilas straight owned him, because Gotltleib was actling like what Knight did was the end of the world and so bad...

I never watch Sportscenter anymore. I watch the specific shows, and the columinst shows such as:

PTI
Around The Horn
Cold Pizza
College Gameday
College Football Final (Even though I can't stand Holtz and May I still watch it because Rece Davis is the best Host at ESPN, I guess you call the guy with no opinion host)
NFL Live
Baseball Tonight
so on and such......
ESPN does whatever is beneficial to its parent company ABC.

And there they were last night, blowing WV and the Big East at the end of the Pitt game. Do they swallow?

Man I get so mad watching Big East football. Steve Slaton burned the same strong saftey all night long. The guy was out manned but the just kept on letting him man up on him.

Pitt never adjusted to it and they got that ass handed to them. If Slaton goes up against an LSU type D, that "Hey Slaton run your ass down feild and I'll throw you the ball because the guy thats manned up on you is 2nd rate" type of O would be shut down after the first time they did it.

I just get so mad and I don't care about either team at all. I like good D.
