Why is it, you get the chills, hair stands up on your back, whenever you're at Neyland and the Vols run through the "T"?

I was born, still living in enemy territory (Bama); but when I was a kid I always through it was amazing seeing the Vols running through the Power T.

It gave me the feeling we were going to go out and beat down the opposing team. During my high school days, it gave me the feeling that we may see Tyler Bray throw for 500 yards and lose to Troy 🤣. I had to be excited for big plays and not big results.

It’s just a special tradition, it gets the blood flowing and signals a battle is about to begin. I remember my first game in Neyland - Alabama v Tennessee in 2018. My girlfriend was in Crimson Red and I was all UT. Not a single person was rude to her, you guys and gals were amazing and she had a wonderful experience. We got smacked by 40 something; but I loved every part of the trip(outside of the score 😅).

I have a job now with clients in Knoxville, I hope to be back soon!

There are threads that run through our lives. When something tugs on one of them, all the memories they're attached to get jiggled. And we feel that as emotion, or chills, or excitement, or all the above.

Hearing certain songs or voices, smells like baking apple pie or the flowers that were in your mom's garden, seeing lads run out onto the field through a band creating a giant T, all kinds of things can grab one of those threads.

Running through the T is a big thread for a lot of us.

Go Vols!

Funny I get chills just thinking about it. When you combine passion, anticipation, tradition, and an environment like Neyland and pack it with the energy our fans bring at least at the beginning of games … I think that is plenty to produce the adrenaline rush that causes chill bumps.

For me, it is the thrill of being part of a big crowd unique experience. My first game at Neyland was when I was a teenager in the 1960’s. The whole pre-game experience was awesome to me, especially Running Through the T, and still is. With all my Neyland family, I was home. Still get goosebumps after all these years.

Not just there, when I see it on tv as well.

Takes me back to when I was a kid and my Dad took me to games. Thought it was incredibly cool back then, and still do.

This! Takes me back to first game with my dad in 1966 at age 10. Dad’s been gone since 2000 but watching the run through the “T” always reminds me of great times with him.

Add it to the fact that I can still hear John Ward say it’s football time in Tennessee when it happens and you realize it became addictive at some point. I have cravings and withdrawals from it too.

It’s fun to watch the Vols whip somebody’s @55 on a fall Saturday. Makes my freakin weekend.
