Why is our women's b-ball so successful

Curious that there is not one post grousing about no national title since 1998....

Shouldn't be curious. I haven't seen anyone anywhere measuring CPF by winning a NC or not. His problem is that he hasn't won the SEC since 1998 and has established a poor record against ranked teams, top SEC teams, and has finished unranked 3 times in this decade. Further he hasn't been to a BCS bowl game since 1999 -- where he incidentally laid another egg against a top team when he had an NFL team.

Why am I not surprised to again find you on the contrarian side of a debate that relies solely upon opinion?

Don't get me wrong, I understand that Auriemma is exactly your type of guy (read: classless), but why constantly be an instigator?
Flavor....pure and simple. Kinda' like all the spices in a gyro.....makes ya a little queezy if you dwell on it, but it sure makes an interesting sandwich. By the way Hat...if you have time, how about giving us the "skinny" on Butler. You may have done it in another thread, but I know you really keep up with the mens side....how good are these guys(other than being good enough to be in NY)??

yeah, i agree with that...it's a lot easier to dominate a sport that is full of nothing at the beginning than it is today...but w/out PHS, the sport wouldn't be what it is today for a geno to even be of any consequence....

which came first, the chicken or the egg?
Why did the chicken cross the road?
Answer: To join the ACC

Butler-Good guards, good coach, little experienced depth. The main reason they're in New York is the fact Notre Dame and Indiana are both average at best. Barring a poor performance, UT should comfortably move on to the finals.

Oipinion? I would refer you to the head to head record of the two coaches in Final Four games. Just because you're a success hating homer doesn't mean everyone else is.

Of course, I'll get a good look @ the Tarheels tonight, but can we steal one on friday in your opinion? They seem awfully big and very deep.

omg people! wake up!!! 100% grad rate in 33yrs of coaching, players that go pro coming back with their own money to repay a scholarship so another young girl can become a lady vol ( this they do on their own by the way ). a total in-house love of the coach, the school, the game, and TENNESSEE. this is why the lady vols are the standard to any sport, male or female. PAT is to basketball what the BABE was to baseball. she began the sport, gave it life, and has loved and nourished it to the thing it is today. we are the luckiest fans in the world to have PAT. SHE puts the orange in our blood and makes us all proud to be called VOLUNTEERS!!!!!! geno will always play catch-up to PAT.

Uh, no. UCLA basketball and UNC women's soccer, just to name two, are more successful than Tennessee women's basketball.

Dan Gable, the wrestling coach at Iowa for most of their great run, is known to all but the most casual of sports fans.
