I have coached bb players. Did it for a couple of years. Frankly, I was not that great a coach.
I also admit that I have never meet Santi in person. However, I have listened to most, if not all of his interviews and pressers.
You have some very clear thoughts on SV's offensive stats and play, BUT you don't appear to know Vescovi at all !!!
Let me introduce you to one of the smartest basketball minds at Tennessee: Santiago Vescovi was drawing up a play in the Alabama game and all the players were paying close attention to SV. Concentrating and locked in on what he was saying. AND head coach Rick Barnes and the assistant coaches were standing there watching him do it!!!!
Why? Well, it's because he has the highest bb IQ on the team. And what the smartest player on the team has decided ... is that playing this role ... is what's best for the team. Heard Rick Barnes say something to this effect ... Santi came up to me and said this is something we should do in our upcoming game. Rick Barnes agreed and they put it in the game plan.
There just might be a little something else ... So, you should wait for the other shoe to drop, ... before you climb any farther out on that limb.
