Why No Love For BJ Edwards?

If Edwards can fulfill the role that Zeigler had this year, we will be more than fine. Zeigler is going to be our starting PG next year in all likelihood.

I would really like to see at least two of Powell, Mashack, and Q to step up and play meaningful minutes. Jo is going to spend a lot of time at the 4 again next year, so we are going to need some quality guards with the loss of Chandler (probably). I also assume Bailey leaves. I hope Brandon and Aidoo can step up to replace Fulky's minutes and in theory some of Uros. While I think Uros is a decent player, he just isn't quick enough or skilled enough to play heavy minutes in the SEC. He still has a role.
If Uros can increase his rebounding (both ends at 8-10 per game), stay out of foul trouble and defend the rim that would be gravy to a biscuit this fall.

I think a lot of our fans are underestimating BJ Edwards nor is he getting talked about much.

Obviously everyone wants Kennedy Chandler to come back next year, even though the chances are slim to none. However, I don’t think he’s irreplaceable.

Edwards may not be as quick as Chandler but he’s a 6’3 guard who can get to the rim and spread the floor. I mean, the knock on Chandler and ZZ, was their size so it won’t hurt to have a bigger guard on the roster.

I’m not saying he’s going to be better than Chandler but I think his potential is being overlooked. I can definitely see him getting quality minutes next year.

Edwards will be a solid contributor next season and back up eigler and Vescovi when they need a rest next season.
