Why the trepidation?

As we begin tournament play next Friday, I like our chances in reaching the final against the Cats. Who else should worry us at this point?

Pretty much everyone, since we haven't overperformed in the SEC Tournament in forever.

I would much rather play MSU than Vandy. We win that game then it won't matter. We will definitely be in.

Yes but you're not seeing what I mean....

Candy is a NCAA lock, miss st is a bubble team.

Miss st wins 2 and they are a lock, they lose first game or to Vanderbilt and they are probably out.

By rooting for miss st you are rooting for a bubble team, which in effect is rooting against UT.

And a win over vandy is a much bigger boost, as well as top 50 win, than beating a rpi 60 team in miss st.

I think the UT/MSU game is an tourney elimination game, but if they upset Vandy then who knows.

If Vandy beats MSU and then beats us (could happen), then MSU may stay in.

RPI boost won't matter much if we win the semi final game.

As a young Tennessee fan with limited experience, my short history is telling me we will have a let down. This seems like the perfect time to lose. But for some reason, I have a good feeling. I am confident in our team. They have plenty of fight in them. They play with such a chip on their shoulder. No more pressure. Nothing to lose. Everything to gain. They might just win the whole thing.

Thats what I'm saying. They are in right now, win 2, one of which would be over Vanderbilt and they should be a lock.

Our rpi should go up close to 12 with a w over Vanderbilt. A w over miss st would probably be around 5-8.

At that point yes we're I'm, but we could then be playing for seeding. I don't wan to limp in, I want good wins, and what would look better than another W over Vanderbilt. The 2nd in a week? Certainly a W over a slipping Miss St team wouldn't look near as good.

As I said also, very simple miss st is a bubble team. I'm not rooting for any bubble teams.

2 wins and we are in. I would rather have the easiest road possible. Vandy is a much more dangerous team imo than MSU. They hit some shots, then it could be ugly. I doubt we move up or down much on seeding whoever we play.

Ole Miss will not be an easy out if they get past Auburn. They took it to us early in the game and Miller, of all people, kept us within striking distance.

We had a terrible first ten minutes, and dominated them the rest of the way. I'm not too concerned.

Many are forgetting miss st beat us, yes I know no stokes

But when miss st plays well, like 1st half against UK they are dangerous

I prefer the rubber game and billboard material gane vs candy. Maybe I'm in the minority.

Personally, I prefer a rematch with Auburn and then meet GA in the semis. Our team is playing good, but winning 2 games is not a given what so ever. If we need 2 games to get in then I would take the 2 easiest.

MSU hasn't played well in weeks. I would much rather take my chances against them, than Vandy that has underachieved all year and somehow get hot. Could be the loss to TN is all they needed.

I always am in regards to the SEC tourney. We haven't fared too well there. We should've won the damn thing in 2008 and 2009 and still couldn't.

Exactly, we've had a incredible run the last month or so, but it could all end Friday night and we will be waiting for our NIT matchup. I'd just rather not see OM or Vandy.

Well, yes other than that fact. I was talking more about matchups, but the SEC Tourney is always strenuous considering the stakes, especially this year.

I'm curious to see how CCM ha his team ready for the SEC tournament.

That kind of worries me. That's an area for improvement for CCM IMO. We were only ready to play in a couple away game all year (Florida and MSU).

I'm not counting the Maui games. I have no idea how we played as well as we did in those 2 games and completely fall apartuntil January.

We closed out the year on the road very well...

That LSU game I think will/has done wonders for this team.
