Yeah it doesn't make any sense to use a discussion forum to discuss a topic. But I do value your opinion about the thread topic.

We've had exactly one team with a prayer of winning a regional. Unfortunately, those were the UT basketball dark ages due to no administration support.

The 2000 team had an easy path to the Final Four and choked it away. Beating an average Carolina team and Tulsa should have happened.

The 2007 team had a great chance, but there were some really solid teams in the way. The 2008 team had a nearly impossible task with Louisville and Carolina.

We hold on against OSU in '07 and all that stands between us and the Final Four is a Memphis team that we had already throttled in the regular season.

I'm not blaming them. This is just an attempt to get to the root of the problem of our inability to ever do anything special in basketball. If teams like Davidson and George Mason can do it, why can't we?

As for the Negavols, i'm really looking for the reason why UT has NEVER made it past the sweet 16.

Why don't you all just title everything "I hate Pearl" and in the message just put "nm". It would save everybody a lot of time, and avoid a lot of confusion. You know as well as I do that if Pearl goes to the Sweet 16, you will just change the wording to "elite 8". If he wins the NT, you'll just say he'll never do it twice, etc, etc, etc. If he wins it 10 times, you'll just say, "Yeah, but he sweats too much."

The act is getting old.
