Why we want Clemson

I have a relatively small reason for wanting to play Clemson.
I really liked the Orange helmet we wore in Columbia.
But our fans that didn’t like it said they looked like Clemson helmets.
No, they don’t.
I want both teams to wear their Orange helmets so that our fans can see the difference.

Clemson’s D is solid and they have a 5 star they put in there when their QB1 is off. There’s a ton of pressure around here for Dabo to play him, but Dabo sticks with Ukelele for whatever reason (maybe his 5 star recruit brother). Last time the backup came in against ND he threw an INT, but it would be our luck he comes in and has the game of his life.
Their front 4 is as good as anywhere. Would be a tough row to hoe moving the ball on them. I’d rather play them when we have a better secondary
And yet lowly SC and Notre Dame beat them.

Our offense won’t be nearly as productive next season w /Milton. I just hope it isn’t a huge drop off similar to 2017, yr after Dobbs.
Those days are over and Coach Heupel isn't Butch Jones. Tennessee goes 10-2 at best in 2023 and 9-3 at worst.

As I recall , the last time we played Clemson, they ran the fumblerooski, and made us look like fools. Dabo would most likely pull out the film of that game for a pep talk.

Dabo called us out for losing to USCe, then promptly lost to them the next week. Now we need to show that a$$ clown who his daddy is.

Might want to check Dabo's record since he has been at Clemson against the same time frame at UT before you start showing him who his Daddy is. I think one of those wins was a bowl rout of UT IIRC.

If Milton can connect with Hyatt deep even twice, then Vols win

He has a couple of games where he was right on target, so there is potential. Overthrowing can be corrected. At least he has the arm strength overthrow propos.

Many qb can't complete those throws, especially in the rain. He threw good short to medium passes. He'll improve these next few weeks of practices

I know the history of the Sugar Bowl but I’d rather play Clemson in the Orange. We owe them a whipping from that 2003 Peach Bowl. Plus all the recruiting implications. Plus a 7:30 kick instead of noon.

The Sugar was special because it used to be for the SEC Champ (who now always goes to the playoffs). But that ain’t us so does it really hold the same prestige?

That’s your reason?
