We need a significant upgrade at this position in the portal if we’re going to compete at the top end of CFB. And yeah we’re going to need some DBs too.

Ohio State DBs have no fear of our receivers whatsoever. They’re not even backing up at the snap. Just sitting and waiting because they know we can’t get behind them. With still a quarter to go won’t be surprised with a pick six in the 4th qtr. Their corners keep getting closer to it on those curls.

I think pope has a habit of going after big physical WR’s who are good blockers but idk that it will work. It obviously helps contested catches and the run game but not the overall passing game.

Clemson a few years ago just had big WR’s and they had a really hard time getting open. I think you need a mix of WR’s to run in different packages. Sticking 3 Bru McCoy types out there isn’t necessarily going to get you a ton of deep shots. Ofc I’m exaggerating but we’ve lacked speed at WR besides squirrel who was injured a lot.
