decent weekend i guess. my steelers really blew it, but i guess i expected that, just not in the fashion that it turned out to be. the defense has been overrated for about a month and a half, and they simply aren't as fast as they need to be, nor are they as physical. the LB's, save Harrison, are slow, the D line really misses Aarron Smith, and as big as Casey Hampton is, he just doesn't do much. the secondary leaves little to be desired as well.

Ben held on to the ball too long, and hte offensive line played about as well as it has hte past month, which isn't very well at all. playcalling was odd after the 1st drive. can't run ND to the outside and expect a great deal of success and the special teams were a no show.

the better team definitely won that game. Jax/NE....this may be the team that NE didn't want to see.

i felt bad for the skins. they took the lead and got that great bounce on the kick off and i thought it was going to be over after that......to come away with no points from that was bad. kudos to the seahawks though, they almost let it slip away and took it right back after that. i was impressed with their D overall. sets up Holmgren vs. Favre. the Teacher returns home, again. i wonder if MH will have anything to say at the coin flip this time?

the giants are an enigma to me. i want to say they are good, but i just can't get there. i keep expecting some boneheaded play to kill htem, and it likely will happen before it's all said and done, but that was a good W yesterday. Dallas/NYG should be interesting....can Big D get the sweep? i think so, but if that front four can rattle romo and disrupt his timing, get a turnover or two, you never know.

TN/SD....TN hung around as long as they could, but SD's d really got after VY and hit him hard, and did it a lot. TN's D is good, they basically shut down LT, and took their chances with PR, who played well down the stretch. hte Titans have to find some offense if they're going to be real contenders. The D is already there. SD heads to Indy....i know this much, for SD to win, their offense is going to have show up before the 4th qtr, and PR is going to have to play very, very well.

the one thing that always gets noticed in the playoffs though is qb play. and i couldn't help but notice in each game over the weekend when the team needed the offense to step up and get a 1st down or needed a big play etc.......more times than not, the ball was taken out of the qb's hands in favor of the "safe" play. and when i see that happen, that just tells me a lot about where the teams think their qb's really are.

in other words, i don't think you'd see Peyton Manning, Joe Montana, Dan Marino, Tom Brady et al, being asked to take a qb draw on 3rd and 7 with 3 minutes to go up by one in a playoff game.

this up coming weekend is when the real games begin, and these types of games are where these types of plalyers shine. i expect Favre, Manning, Brady and Romo all to do very well, and all 4 teams have the adv. at qb over the opponent they are playing.

I don't know about Tomlin, he really made some bad calls late. In turn the Jags helped them by abandoning the run in the 4th. DG made the plays when they needed it and pulled out the win.

All four games this weekend are going to be awesome.

Tomline will be fine. i think for a rookie head coach taking over for a so called "icon", he did very well for a rookie. and Lord knows, he had to learn a whole hell of a lot this season in the process.

I'm going with New England, Indianapolis, Green Bay and New York this weekend.

it's hard not to go with the home teams this weekend, and for me the NYG/DLS game is the one that's hardest to pick, cause i just don't know what to expect from NY. then you have the whole Wade Phillips in the playoffs, and Romo and witten jetting off to Mexico for R&R etc....

SEA can beat GB if their def plays the way it did last week, but stopping GB is a little different than stopping Washington.

Indy i think will be very good, and i expect them to win.....Peyton>Phillip.

NE/JAX....oof. this game has the potential to be one of the all timers. they didn't face each other in the reg. season, and Jax plays the type of game that could give NE problems. their def front, if they can get to Brady, it could happen. i am really looking forward to watching this game.

the jags present a significant challenge on both sides of the ball for the pats.....they can run the ball inside, gerard can tuck and run, and he's efficient with the pass. on defense, this may be the best front they've seen outside the Giants all year. they can stop the run and pressure the qb.

i'll be shocked if hte patriots "handle" the jags.

It all depends and the Jags ability to sack Brady. GO JAGS

You should be rooting for Brady, I mean you should want the pats to meet up with the ponies so you have a slim chance of me having to use one of your stupid avatars, but I can see why you would root for the jags so you won't be afraid of having Brady as yours for a month. :)

that will be the challenge for the jags pass rush, brady gets rid of it so quick. the key for the jags is to get them in more uncomfortable 3rd down situations than their used to. easier said than done i know.

i really think this is going to be a hell of a game.

you guys are high. the jags stink. i'm not of the belief that the pats are going to roll through the playoffs, but they will beat the jags easily. the game will be over by the first quarter.

The Jags lost to TN, 2 times to Indy, NO (BAD) and to Houston :birgits_giggle:. Ah, 17-0 is going to sound so nice. :)

Agree.

Jags are a nice story...winning at NE is another story all together.
