I honestly would like to get a coach that steals Dawn's thunder. Dawn is the hot commodity right now. I want a coach that comes in, recruits on that level and then starts the dethrone process. Beat the best, to be the best.
Who’s out there at this time that can do that? I’m not sure she/he is out there as we speak.

well it won't be dawn (and it won't be her anyway) if it is announced at the final four. that would never, ever happen to a coach who is competing for a title and that would be in writing.

I don’t have any information but something tells me Dawn is heavily in the mix. If we get through Sunday without naming a coach, it very well could be her.

The better poll is whether a new coach will be named while there are good players available in the portal.
I think more players will enter in the next couple weeks. Could be wrong though.

Last year, Jewel Spear entered the portal, April 26th. Lauren Betts entered, April 18th. I think there will be more movement.

Throw the money at Dawn Staley. Make her tell you no. She will dominate the woman’s game for another 15-18 years. She has no ties to South Carolina. She played at Virginia. Let’s go get her.
After UT played Virginia in the regional final against Dawn, Pat met her, loved her, saw her talent. Then when Pat was diagnosed with her dementia, it was Dawn and South Carolina that donated $20000 to the fund.

I’m telling you, the longer this goes without naming a coach while SC is still playing…

If it's a staffer on either SC or Iowa, I imagine it would be a few more days after the final since that coach would need a considerate amount of time to tell their current team, family, etc., before it is announced.

Danny White is not an insolent little bit#&. Remember when Scott Boras dropped the news about A- Roid opting out of his Yankee's contract during the World Series? If not, here is what former MLB commish Bud Selig had to say about the stunt:

he was "appalled at the lack of respect shown the game by the selfish and self-centered announcement of Scott Boras last evening."

"The announcement appeared to be a deliberate attempt to take attention from the pre-eminent baseball event of the year, the World Series, and showed a significant disregard for the core principle that baseball is a team game and not an individual sport,"

I voted after the final four.

Why in the world would Staley leave SC, THE current dominant program that she built? Sometimes it's about money, but sometimes it isn't.

Law? She has a 69-93 w/l record as a head coach. Against only conference foes, it is even worse..she would be my hire if I was gonna kick dirt in the Lady Vols basketball grave.

It's the silliest thing ever that people are throwing her name out there. SC is DS now. It's the perfect situation for her, and now she has an illustrious history there and grateful alums who will forever want to come see her IN COLUMBIA. Where she is queen.

Same of Geno. And Tara. And Mulkey. It is comical that people have ever seriously mentioned any of those icons of their university's athletics programs and their states. Ludicrous is the better word, actually.

You’re forgetting Mulkey left the exact same situation and is by all accounts….much happier.

Her former players just come to LSU instead. Seen it lots

To go back to her home state and the state where she had a dazzling college career and started coaching (as an assistant at LA Tech).

Dawn is not a native Tennessean.

Mulkey went home, where all her people and her proud Louisiana heritage lives. LSU was the only place she'd have ever left Baylor for.

Also, I wouldn't want to live in Waco, Texas, and be under the thumbs of those in charge of Baylor if I had another great opportunity, either.

Vic Schaeffer went home, too. He isn't going anywhere unless he's fired.
