With all these big time teams hiring new coaches (NFL and College) is there any coach on our current staff we should be worried about?

I'm concerned about Thigpen and Gillespie mostly. I could easily see them jump to the NFL if they wanted to.

I hope so, these guys have collectively accomplished alot together so I'm anxious to see if they can do that here at UT as well. It's hard to judge their body of work one year in.

Regardless of the 5-7, look at recruiting. Thig is a beast in that department (see auburn).

I'm not really concerned about that this time around but its not impossible.

I am a little surprised no one has come after Thigpen yet, or even rumors.
Fingers crossed.

At least until after N.S.D. I have seen in the past where when a position coach left a program, some of the recruits left also.

The offensive line coach from a few years ago, I think his name was Pitt or Pittman, from N.C. left for a position at Arkansas. when he left, the recruit from Utah named Skipper, who is a 6 foot 8 inch lineman, changed from Tennessee to Arkansas and he did so well this year that he was either an S.E.C. Freshman team or All American freshman team.

we need to keep all of our recruits.....

A RB coach from a certain 5-7 team went down to a school in florida and won a NC earlier this week. Did you know that?

The one everyone is not concerned that left?

People around here act like coaches can't be replaced with better

I can point out two on this staff that could and should be upgraded

I've always said no 5-7 but you always wonder because they have done such a good job recruiting but it's highly unlikely.

Even though they are the best staff in america.

Yep, that happened last year, actually. Probably Butch's biggest lost commitment in that signing class. We desperately needed to sign a good O-lineman in that class.

Bajakian is expected to be mentioned in connection with the WKU gig now coming open. Would be very surprised if he takes another job now, however.

I'm not allowed to start a topic, so I figured I'd post this here. Not that we need another reason to hate Alabama, but reports saying that Lane Kiffin is the leading candidate to be the new OC after Nussmeier bolted for Michigan.

I don't think anyone leaves for a lateral move. I think they will all stay this year which will be nice to have consistency for a year. Having the same schemes year two should show big improvements.
