Will all our coaches stay?

We should be concerned some will be poached cause they are the best staff in country but at the same time should we be concerned cause they don't get poached??? headscratcher.com

I'm glad Thig is doing well but i'd be a fool to not be at least a tiny bit concerned about his success. Anyone that went to The Auburn School of Recruiting should be of concern.

Of course I hope they all stay. Nations best staff or not.

GBO.

With all these big time teams hiring new coaches (NFL and College) is there any coach on our current staff we should be worried about?

I'm concerned about Thigpen and Gillespie mostly. I could easily see them jump to the NFL if they wanted to.

Especially thigpen the guy is a beast on the recruiting trail:loco:

Bajakian is expected to be mentioned in connection with the WKU gig now coming open. Would be very surprised if he takes another job now, however.

I will help him pack his bags and get his house ready. IMHO the worst coach of the Butch Bunch.

EDIT: To support my claim, i now present facts (yes VolNation, FACTS) that show UT to have the 104 ranked Total Offense in 2013 out of 124 teams. (just a little ahead of...you guessed it. Central Michigan, SURPRISE! and just BEHIND GEORGIA STATE. Yep, the mighty panthers out gained Bajakian's Unit.

your honor the prosecution rests and we throw ourselves on the mercy of the court.

Good argument, although comparing UT's offense to GSU and CMU is not helping your case. They play in some of the weakest conferences in the FBS and still only had a combined record of 6-18.

UT's offense would be in the top 30-40 at least with either of those teams' schedules.

Skipper was actually from Colorado and was heavily recruited by Chaney.

At least until after N.S.D. I have seen in the past where when a position coach left a program, some of the recruits left also.

The offensive line coach from a few years ago, I think his name was Pitt or Pittman, from N.C. left for a position at Arkansas. when he left, the recruit from Utah named Skipper, who is a 6 foot 8 inch lineman, changed from Tennessee to Arkansas and he did so well this year that he was either an S.E.C. Freshman team or All American freshman team.

we need to keep all of our recruits.....

Yes because a lot of teams usually thrive starting 3 QBs, one a true freshman, after losing their top three receivers to the league. In a first year scheme with the toughest schedule. Calm down and give it one more year.

Regardless of what you think about the assistant coaches. This staff needs to stay in tack for more than a year. The turnover has been a big part of why we have sucked so long. We need things to be steady for a while. Good, bad or in between.

I don't see there being any need for concern at the moment with our current staff. I think all of the guys we have on our staff are here for the right reason, and that is restoring our program back to where it belongs as the elite in college football. Unlike Dools, Butch has the ability to actually assemble and keep a solid surrounding cast.

Besides Thigpen, I really don't see why we would need to worry about any of them bolting. On what credibility? Im sorry, but Bajakian didn't wow me at all so I cant figure out why his name is hot. What makes any of our assistants hot candidates for other schools...based on what? lol

I hope so. We have some really good recruiters in Gillespie, Azzani, Martinez and Thig. I would focus my attention on the "other" UT... they worry me the most

So you're saying we should hire Garner? And thus get Lambert back.

J/K....:)

hey guys I'm not suggesting that we FIRE anybody -- so in effect I am calm and I do recognize the 3 starting QB and issues with schedule and injury. I am just pointing out that Coach B's resume is not perhaps as strong as it needs to be before seeking a HC job. BTW, Western has promoted their coordinator to HC, so this thread is moot.

Ahhh gotta always love the Dooley jabs. Especially since the guy didn't have the ability to bring a staff with him or fire many in contracts at the time of his hiring. That's not tying his hands behind his back now is it?? At least he brought in some former Vols to be on staff...

But of course...CBJ walked into a worse situation...so it doesn't matter anyhow.

A lot of teams scored more than 3 points against Missouri.

A lot of teams scored more than 10 points against Vanderbilt.

A lot of teams actually made bowl games.

So...being consistently bad is better than making changes.

I am not suggesting anyone get fired but Jancek and Bajakian should be on fairly short leashes. I just didn't see anything out of them that portends greatness.

Jancek will stay doubt we'll ever get rid of him.

If he puts up another year like this last one he is gone - either CBJ will fire him or if not they are both gone. Can you imagine the pressure he will face if he gets blown out by Kiffin in Knoxville (very likely scenario which we have already seen when Kiffin was our coach).

I doubt we lose anyone this go round. I think if we go 8-5 next year and have another top 5 class coming in, some of these assistants start getting looks from other schools. I hope we keep these guys together for a few years.

I am a little surprised no one has come after Thigpen yet, or even rumors.
Fingers crossed.

I heard on the radio this morning that Ohio State and Urban Meyer have been in negotiations with him. I sure hope that's not so. He said that he needed more defensive players that were stars and a recruiter that could hit he Southeast hard....which Thigpen matches up to. In order for us to get back to the glory days, we have to get the horses to win the race. One recruiting class is a great start but it'll take a couple more to make us "really" competitive.

Don't shoot the messenger...I hope he stays and we pay up to keep him. Our LB's performed well last year and he's recruited one hell of a handbag of kids....18 total kids....10 4*s....and 8 3*s.

Anyone that puts up #'s like that on the recruiting trail is going to get looks from the big boys. Hope like heck we can keep him.

We NEED this guy to stay. Hope that stays a rumor. #VFL
