If you are bashing the hiring of coach Jones, then you are a troll or a moron. It's getting old. We have more trolls and experts on this site than any site I visit. A bunch of know nothings with ignorant opinions. The recruits like him as well as the players. He will win big at TN.:rock:

Get used to it, friend... any by the way.... they aren't trolls anymore - haters are now the majority of the fanbase.

That's what happens when you hire an unqualified coach.

I guess I need to start collecting tolls along the troll bridge......This hire sucked. I guess if being a troll meant being a real fan, you would expect a great hire, a great coach and would want to win every game. Maybe getting behind every loser coach we hire makes you a better fan than me.......You should expect more sir..

Well, Its certainly not what we needed

We needed a hire that would excite the fans, get top recruits interested again, and make it at least appear that the UT AD cared about the direction of the program

We accomplished none of those

I agree...I just dont get this hire. Nothing kills a sports boner quicker than hiring a coach that got out coached by Dooley.

Why do we need something temporary like a "splash hire" that excites the fanbase with immediate satisfaction? That is what people who are not strong minded and give in to emotion need. What the UT football program, forget fans, needs is a coach that can win football games. UT just hired a really good football coach. Period. Will he win, we will see. Depends on his staff and recruiting. But he is a good coach that gives UT a chance to win football games. That is what we need. So many fans acting like toddlers that live on nothing but emotion.

Recruits recongnize the name, Tennessee NEEDS that due to lack of in state recruiting and because they've been totally irrelavent for the past 5 years...

I would ask you why isn't it a great hire? Every coach has to work his way up. You guys are bashing him and he has yet to coach a practice at UT. Every one of you criticizing Hart and this hire act as though you would have done a better job. These people are in the position they are in because of talent. Yet you guys sit behind a keyboard and pretend you know what's best for the program. It's a joke. The players at UT are excited. The recruits are excited. Yet the experts on here are bashing the decision. I'll say it again. How arrogant can one be? I give 2 grand a year to the university. I bet you give zero yet you think your opinion matters.

Recruits are having to Google him....Look at the twitter logs...A lot are asking who is this? A splash hire would have at least gotten us through a couple of winning seasons. This is at best the most questionable hire that we could have made.

Maybe some of you are just looking for a splash hire without realizing that some of those "names" haven't done what Butch Jones has done.

When Brian Kelly left CMU, Butch Jones stepped up and the program didn't miss a beat, for the next 3 years, he owned the MAC.

When Brian Kelly left Cinci, Butch Jones rebuilt the program into 2 Time Big East Champs after an initial down year.

What this tells me is that as the competition and conference he coached in intensified, he was able to step his game up and produce. With a track record like that, I have no problem with this hire. The guy paid his dues at less prestigious programs, wanted this job, and welcomes the challenge of coaching in the SEC. Can you say the same about Strong and Gundy?

Exactly. Nothing against Butch Jones, for he may very well win here, but he should have NEVER been on any list for this position, much less gotten the actual job.

Hart has unified the fanbase with anger, and has stated that we no longer care about winning in the SEC. We are well on our way to becoming the Colorado of the SEC (which, ironically, is a school we beat out for Jones' service).

He is a coach that has sustained success of his predecessor at each of the past two schools he's been at. I'd say his ability to build a program is very much in question.
