I really think that we have some intelligent people that post in these forums, but they are hard to find because of all the nonsense that we see, post after post..I have no idea about what the financial woes that the University has, and how that impacted not only the search for a new coach, but also their ability to hire who they really wanted..I know that no matter who became the new coach, there would be a whole lot of negative posts, and a bunch of Fire Hart statements regardless...I am so tired of these FIRE THIS GUY, FIRE THAT GUY THING..I do know what will help in this rebuilding process is some stability..Nothing kills a program more than not knowing who is going to be in what position year after year, and in a big time school, that is not just who is going to be the coach, but also the AD and President of the school...Many people ( i say people because i am not sure what a "fan" is anymore) have been asking for Hart's removal since day one, and even more since Dooley was fired..The man has been on his job 15 months, and u are telling me that is long enough to say if he will be successful or not? The football program (wins & loses) has been going down here for a while now, and it is time to admit we are not the program we were in 1998, so please be realistic..Could we get back to that, i for one say yes, but not by hiring and firing people as soon as things don't go the way u want, or had hoped for..These people u fire before their contract is up, do not leave empty handed and if u think the financial hit that creates, doesn't affect the product we are putting on the football field, then you are one of these "trolls" that is the poster is referring to..I really don't know much about Butch Jones or whether it will turn out to be a good hire or not, but i believe those making the decisions are much more qualified to do that, than 99.3% of the people, that post here..I will give u this, there was no way to sell the stock on Dooley to anyone, because of the record that he brought to the table..People know say that we are the laughing stock of college football because coaches turned us down..Gundy was never going to leave his alma mater to come here, and Louisville gave Strong an 8 yr contract with hella money to keep him there..There is not one coach out there that i would want UT to invest 8 years into, or have to pay to leave, is things don't work out..This fan base wants to say "we are UT" and we have to get a home run hire, and we can have anyone we want...If u still believe that, again, u are one of those "trolls" because that is simply not true..What is true is...no matter who was hired, they was going to be a great backlash by our so called fans...Did you read all those posts against hiring Strong?..Hell that Gruden thread has been around for a long time, and for many folks that was a done deal from the first day he was mentioned, with no concrete evidence that HE EVER WANTED THIS JOB..When u have been out of coaching for a while, does that automatically make u GREAT, because nothing i see on his resume, constructs GREATNESS..All i want is to move forward from now on, and wait and see what happens..This FIRE EVERYONE trend that our fan base seems to be on, is certainly not the way to go...If we don't stop this, those of you that have young kids will never give them the opportunity to have the pride we had, in UT FOOTBALL, as this 40 something year old man had..I am a ride or die UT fan, and i will never give up on them...So for those of you that are "DONE", please go away already, and allow this forum to be a place that the others of us can come, for a little peace and fun...
