Nick Saban when he took over LSU?

or

Urban Meyers when he took over FL?

or

(I'm comparing to any coach where they have had at least 2 HC jobs (low to mediocre teams), never had SEC experience before, and was hired when the previous coach was fired)

I'll answer just for the fun of it. I'd say more like Urban Meyer( except butch isn't a sleeze bag). Both of them have a little more personality than Saban, plus Meyer ran a fast paced offense like butch will. The only differance between the two is that I believe Meyer had more talent at uf his first yr than butch will. That's cause ron zook could recruit but couldn't coach, dools couldn't do either lol

Its amazing how many people convince themselves this is factual. Not liking someone is one thing, but the fact was, he could recruit just fine. Zook had Florida to recruit in. It's arguably the best state for recruiting behind texas (Texas Florida, Georgia, California.)

But, facts aren't useful for the blind dooley haters and supporters, just those of us in the middle.

I was just thinking today HOW MUCH THIS TEAM LOOKS LIKE LAST YEARS ALABAMA. Not kidding. The offensive line...the same, the running backs...the same, the line backers...the same, the safeties...the same, playing the physical inside game with freshman wide outs...the same, the quarter back under the radar, but capable and smart...the same. Worley is likely to make HUGE growth this year. The coach is a great in game coach too. Open those eyes VOLS.

Yeah, corners as well. I said how much they look alike...they are not exact. But they look very similar.

Edit, who are the starting corners anyway? maybe they are as good. We have very good defensive backs that were picking passes left and right last year till the injuries.

He could recruit just fine if you were happy winning 6 or 7 games a year at most. He couldn't recruit well enough to win anything of value at UT. The fact that he's been handed a roster filled largely with sub-SEC level talent is a big part of why its going to take Jones a few years to start turning things around here.
