Butch Jones has proven that he can indeed recruit, but many Vol fans are still questioning Butch's on field coaching ability, including me. I think this year will provide a better picture of Jones true coaching ability and I'm pulling for Butch to succeed and give some sense of coaching stability at UT.

He's not going to Florida. I doubt he would make Florida's gort list.

I hope you get to choke on every single negative post that you've written in the last year about CBJ this year. I hope this year, you get to watch as he shows everyone what a good coach he is.

There isn't college coach alive that hasn't had to fire an assistant , it's only a matter of time when Butch has to let one go.

So you have a link proving all of this? I would love to read where Hart said "look Butch our program is in the sewer and I expect you to get to a bowl game every year and get to the SEC title game in 3 years."

What I love about volnation is the fact that it don't represent the majority of vol fans. I am optimistic about this year, the media and the majority of vn seem to think we are looking at best a 6-6 season. No way 40k plus fans thought that the other night. I agree with 92, hope cbj wins and wins big tired of coaching changes. But if it were up to vn and the media we would still have doily! Jmo

The years of only having to beat Florida to win the East are long gone. Not only has the SEC risen to the top of college football in the last 15 years, but so has the competition. Butch will have to continue to recruit at a high level, coach even higher, and then get a little luck. Just look at Mark Richt. He resides in the talent rich state of Georgia and can barely even make the SEC Championship game. Look at Les Miles and LSU in the talent rich state of Louisiana. They've had great teams but can't keep their talented players. It's going to be a long hard climb back to the top of the East. We are not even in the conversation right now. Some say 2016, but actually it will be more like 2018 before we can even begin to think about being an elite program again, and that is if we get a little luck and Butch recruits and coaches out of his mind.

Tennessee and Florida have been replaced by USCe and UGA.
