I saw on ESPN this morning that he was going to have talks w/ DEI today, but they were not going to include his step mom in the discussion. they wanted to keep them 2 seperate as much as possible. wow that's pretty bad. do you think he'll stay with DEI or leave?

VM, on another note, what is The Car of Tomorrow that I keep hearing about on NASCAR? And when will it replace the current cars? Thanks.

The so called "car of tomorrow" has like a wing on the back of the car instead of the spoiler they have had. plus the car is lower to the track. They will first race the car of tomorrow at the bristol race this year. i'm not a fan of the look. looks to much like a street racer like what someone had said in a comment or 2 before this one.

I hope not, for his sake.

Tusk, the CoT will debut at Bristol this Spring. It will be in a few more races this year before being in every race starting next (I think) season. The point is to try and make the cars more boxier (is that a word? Basically making the cars wider and taller), safer, and to produce better racing. They'll actually end up looking more like a street car than the current cars they race which are as slick as a bullet.

So you think he'll go to RCR next year? Or this year? I think he's in his final yr of his contract w/ DEI

Thanks! I wish they would go back to the Mid 80's non restrictor plate cars and qualify at 214 m.p.h. Imagine what todays sleek cars could do without plates. 225 - 230 probably.

He'd have to go RCR next year, his contract with TEI is up at the end of 2007.

Rusty Wallace tested at Talladega without the restrictor plate a few years ago and was reportedly going 240mph at the end of the straights. That's insane in those cars.

The CoT will also have a smaller engine which will allow NASCAR to ditch the plates at Daytona and Talladega. The Penske team tested at Daytona last month with the CoT and went 191mph in a single car run.

I think he is gone, but I for one hope he ends up somewhere like Gibbs. I really don't want to see him in the 3 car. I realize that I'm in the minority.

If TE dosen't include 30 or 40 % ownership option, he is gone!

Yeah Tid i think Rusty's lap speed ended up being 229 mph. It was a goodyear test and they just wanted to see what it would do. it was about three years ago before it was paved. We were across the street at the dirt track when we went over to see who was there testing. Was pretty wild. About like the first year they but dirt on bristol! that was racing!!! Any of you make it to that?
