Will Dale Jr. Stay w/ DEI?

Big E never drove for DEI.

Jr. will likely end up with RCR and drive a black #3 car during select events.
This will never ever ever happen. He will get 30 to 40% of DEI in the coming months. He will stay with them and also eventually start up his Second Chance team big time. Eventually becoming a Nextel car owner. Kinda like what Gordon did with JJ's car.

He will never got to RCR. And NO ONE should ever drive the #3 ever again.

Bad news for JR fans is this. Until this contract situation is resolved, I see it distracting the team and putting a damper on the season. No way he wins the 500.

This pretty much assures that Jr. and TEI will go there separate ways.

The contract dispute won't hamper his season no more than having to drive TEI equipment will.

I actually feel pretty confident about his chances in the 500, considering how the car ran at Talladega last Fall.

DEI is ran by Teresa Tid. They just hired a new guy to handle all business matters. SHe is just there to cash SR's checks. DEI will not let JR go. He is the biggest name in all of racing. IF they do they are morons. He will take everyone with him, including the drivers.

Yes, they hired a PR guy to run a racing team and maximize the profit for Tere$a, I'm well aware of this. Another brilliant move by Tere$a to benefit herself.

I dunno that anyone would want Truex or Menard, but Jr. would definitely take the sponsors with him, that much is certain. I wouldn't mind at all if the whole #8 team merged with RCR. TEI is stretched too thin as it is with Tere$a being tight with the money, and what do they do? Revive the 3rd team to run a full season.

All this 3 talk and RCR talk, to me, is wishful thinking by naive JR fans. I love everything Earnhardt, and would love for JR to race for someone who wants to win. But i dont see it happening TID.

It absolutely is wishful thinking on my part. Hopefully it'll come to fruition. :rock2:

Yeah Tid i think Rusty's lap speed ended up being 229 mph. It was a goodyear test and they just wanted to see what it would do. it was about three years ago before it was paved. We were across the street at the dirt track when we went over to see who was there testing. Was pretty wild. About like the first year they but dirt on bristol! that was racing!!! Any of you make it to that?

No but I REALLY wante to. I hate that I missed it living 20 minutes away. Im guessing you went? Do you still have any pictures or anything?

over anybody else, i could see Junior in the number 3. unless TE comes up with a deal to get him partial ownership, he's gone and it WILL be the 3 he races in next.

Ditto, that looked like the DEI of old last year at Dega until Vickers went on kamikaze(sp?) run and took him and JJ out...

I'd love to see Jr. just ball out this year and actually get more than one win.
No kidding, I think if he could come out and win Daytona this year we may be in for another 2004 season, just more consistent and hopefully a good championship run....He won like 6 races that year....He had the opportunity to do it at quite a few races this year but his car peaked at the wrong time....Homestead, Michigan(had a chance to win both of those, even late) the Fall Richmond race, Bristol....I mean he really could have came away with some big ones but just couldn't get it done in the end, either made stupid mistakes or just didn't have the car, I think he can do it this year

Toyota may surprise a lot of people, I didn't realize how much money they spent but they spent a lot of money on this project, I knew it took money, but they spent a TON......Car of Tomorrow will be interesting, hope it ain't boring

the Car of Tomorrow just looks idk stupid is that the right word for it? this has been mentioned before maybe in another thread but it really does look like a street racer. not a fan of the wing on the back

Yeah, I don't like them either......they do look pretty stupid but who are we to say we don't like them? Can't change NASCAR's mind I don't guess......I think Daytona will be an interesting race though, I always look forward to the Daytona, see everyone's new paint schemes.....And finally, something to watch on Sunday's other than Gold...Not that I watch it but it seems like that's the only thing on Sports wise on a Sunday

Yeah, same here.......I'll watch it if its UT or the Jayhawks....I kinda wouldn't mind seeing Gordon or something hit the wall next Sunday.....Not hurt him, just hurt his car enough to where he won't have a chance to win.....Him and JJ....That'd be a good start to the year

that would bring a smile to my face, i won't lie. a big smile, and i might b happy enough to go out and get some beer and enjoy the rest of the race. and i don 't drink.

Haha, ditto on the last part, only problem is I ain't legal LOL......Oh it'd bring a huge smile to my face because I truly feel like Jr. has the best shot to win the 500 he's had on in a long time.....Better than 2004......He was TOUGH last October at Dega......It really looks like that if he stays with DEI this year in coming years, as good as things are starting to mesh over there(other than with that broad Teresea)they'll be s\a force to reckon with.....He's been making big strides on the downforce tracks, he's now pretty much a threat to win every where now....His road course racing could use some work though

I think he's got a chance to win w/ DEI, but I think he has a better chance with RCR. I'd love to see him go there.
