Will Grier

If you have a shred of objectivity, then yes

I know right?

It’s crazy to suggest the AP’s pre-season 1st team All-American QB, playing in a conference allergic to pass defense, could gen up enough stats to contend for the Heisman....crazy I say...

Is Will Grier a legitimate Heisman candidate?
I think he definitely has a legit shot as in if you had to name 5 or 6 guys he would be one of mine with his talent and the wr group he has

Wouldn’t be surprised if he goes #1 overall in draft either

We Do NOT want the distractions of Heisman Hype for any Vol this year. Seriously, we need W's, not a H.

We should all be Grier fans. If we lose we need a good excuse, if we win we don't want people to be able to say that Grier sucks.

He has a better chance of being the first QB taken in the draft than winning the Heisman. You have to be on a team that wins at least 10 games to be a serious contender and I can't see UWV getting there. Too little defense.

Heisman trophies are awarded to the best player in college football the country, and while that doesn't neccesarily mean that your team has to go undefeated or 11-1, it definitly helps. While 26 Heisman winners have been on undefeated teams and as many have been on one loss teams. WVU having an 8-4 maybe 9-3 record at the end of this season will not leave Grier in the spotlight accepting a trophy for being the best player in the country. The Heisman winner with the worst all time record was Notre Dame's Paul Hornung in 1956 when the Irish went 2-8. His stats were pretty gaudy for the time, but I don't see NCAA hiesman voters bringing that back. Just my opinion.

Even win robert griffin won they only had three losses and beat a bunch of ranked teams and number five Oklahoma in dramatic fashion plus at least one huge comeback. I just don’t think Grier compares to griffin and can get away with two or three losses.

Man he’s been garbage today

Should of taken the easy dump off to rb instead he takes sack

Has also missed at least 3 easy touchdowns with bad passes

Gotta give them credit. They blocked well, gave him time, he escaped some pressure, threw some dimes, and his receivers had glue on their gloves.
He definitely should be a Heisman contender if he plays like that. He carried them the second half. He dissected us like a surgeon.

Our DBs made plenty of mistakes and we never really got much push up front, but some of his passes today were just about impossible to defend, and he avoided any costly mistakes. Call me impressed -- could easily see him as an early first-rounder.

Grier had two passes yesterday that were just things of beauty. Poor Nigel got scored on with one. He couldn’t defend that unless he tackled the receiver before ball got there.

He looked against us. I wonder if he will be that good throughout the season.
