Dear God...

we got the most important game of the year in three hours and you wonder if our coach is going to leave despite the fact the only tie he has to illinois is the big ten?

Lol
..calm down.
those big 10 guys like their big 10 style play but just aaked before anyone else did.

We play a Big Ten style of basketball. We're lucky to have Martin, whom likely would have been a candidate for the Illinois job if he were still at Missouri State. He's not leaving Stokes or UT for Illinois now.

He wouldn't leave, but if Illinois doesn't get Smart, you know he'd probably be on their list to call.

Their consultant is already calling his agent to determine his interest. (I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night).

But seriously, who wouldn't have him on their radar if they needed a good head coach over the next several years? You want other schools to like what they see. If they don't you are losing. Once he starts having real success on the hill he won't be wanting to leave.

Since when is Tennessee a stepping stone job? If I remember correctly our attendance ranks among top 5 nationally. Our resources and facilities are unmatched by any Big Ten School (With the exception of maybe tOSU). Why would he leave? He wouldnt.

I don't know why everybody is hatin on the OP.. I actually had the same thought when I saw that Weber got canned.

OP didn't ask whether Cuonzo would accept, but rather if they would/will call him. I honestly think they might.. He's originally from the Chicago area, has recruiting ties there, etc.

I agree Smart from VCU will probably be their guy, but you have to admit, ole Zo is making a name for himself, so we shouldn't be surprised to hear rumors about these types of schools showing interest when vacancies come up..
