Will McCollough play Saturday?

I think he will play. Otherwise they wouldnt have cleared him. They would have said “we are going to leave it up to the justice system.”
I don't think so. He has a pending felony criminal case. No way they would play him with the possibility of a conviction still out there. Even if they know, without a shadow of doubt, he is innocent, the risk of being convicted is still too much to ignore. They may play him, but I highly doubt it.

Just read that McCollough has been cleared by the University. No suspension and no further penalties. What are the chances he starts and plays Saturday? The police investigation is still ongoing.
If the university came out and said this the police investigation will mirror what the university said. I think he plays.

I'd say it will be hard to play him with a criminal charge still levied against him. As soon as that gets taken care of, he'll play. . .
We have to run screaming from this mindset.

"Having a criminal charge levied against you" should not, Cannot, be used in any way, shape or form against someone in a nation where the Constitution guarantees you are innocent until proven guilty.

I urge all to not allow charges, or even grand jury indictments, to color your opinion about the accused.

Say you (the resident constitutionalist) are right and he plays.... How does the university look if they played him and he is convicted? I am of the opinion that if he plays tomorrow that's a good sign these charges will not stand. Jmo.

I'll hang up and listen to your comment.

I have a feeling that they know the charges are being dropped.

I totally agree with you. The people who think that decisions like these are made on whims involving emotions asserted as constitutional rights are absurd. These decisions are made in private with all factors being carefully looked at. This also includes the players best interest. JJ is a young man with his life ahead of him. Most of what's been reported seems to point to he was defending himself and if that is the case the best thing for him to do is listen to the support system he has around him. This will be an invaluable life lesson for him.

You have to wonder if the injured person realizes he can be charged with unlawful entry?

I would be willing to bet that he is probably way more concerned with his drinking habits at this point than unlawful entry. But that's a great point.

I have been guilty of partaking in more adult beverages than one should but I never "accidentally" went into the wrong house.

Quick question anyone on the board...
Would you be willing to sacrifice the public humiliation of a severe a$$ kicking by going to the police with only the "I must have accidentally went into the wrong house" explanation?

So, let me get this right?
I can drive to Athens in two weeks, get smashed at the bar…
Drive over to campus, and walk into Stetson Bennett’s apartment and say, “Oops, wrong apartment dude.. Don’t be a d*ck about it!”
He hits me in my mouth, and then he misses the Tennessee game?

Sure. But if you're gonna do that, use a player that actually matters

That is the logic some seem to portray. Nice post
