Will Riley Ferguson be the starter?

I'm confused. Last year when TB was acting up, Worley was found to be the inventor of a bread slicing machine. Then, as we were recruiting Peterman, it was determined that he had invented the better mouse trap. Now we are saying that both/either Dobbs or Ferguson are water walkers, who will arrive to save our team. Just what is going on?

Same thing that happens every year. Someone here will convince themselves that so and so is a "starter from day one" because he was such a good HS player. Then... the reality of the difference between HS and CFB sets in. It takes time for them to adjust so many times the same people will write them off and move on to the next great recruit.

In the meantime, that earlier prodigy goes to work and becomes a good CFB player.

It is likely that Worley or Peterman starts. Jones has used two QB's before. I would not be surprised if Worley starts but they have a "package" for Peterman as a change up that probably involves more QB runs and roll out options.

I think it will be a 2 QB system. I think Worley starts, but we will see a lot of Peterman(10-15 snaps a game). I expect both Fergs and Dobbs to redshirt unless there is an injury.

Since cbj is the next general we r actually going to rotate 4 qbs. Worsley on 1st. Peterman on 2nd. Riley on 3rd and save Dobbs for 4th down.. no stinking punting needed with the new general in town.... lol

Not always a great indicator. Cade Thompson lost zero games in four years ad a HS QB. Never saw the field at USC.

Agreed. Patton Robinette only lost 2 or 3 games his entire career at Maryville, and I doubt he ever sees the field at Vandy.

I don't understand the thought process behind the thinking that we should put a lot of stock in spring practice qb stats. For crying out loud, the way it sounds on here is that if Worley or Peterman don't complete every pass for a 35 yd completion in SPRING PRACTICE, then we are doomed in the quarterback slot

I vote we give Worley/Peterman the full spring practice to get their feet wet with a TOTALLY NEW SYSTEM before we decide they aren't good enough and look to an untested freshman who has yet to take a snap from an SEC center in a game?!?!?!?

Come back around October 1st and we can all have a better perspective. Until then, look the other way if it bothers you.

Both QBs are looking underwhelming so far...maybe we should just prepare for the future and play Ferguson if he comes in and can compete at least equally with Worely and Peterman..

Ferguson is not your ordinary true freshman from a mental; standpoint....he is supposedly an football genius..mentally he is easily the best we have had since Manning....and let's not forget Ainge beat some pretty good teams including Florida as a true freshman...with this offensive line ferguson will have plenty of time to make decisions and throw it...

I personally am really excited to see what this kid can do...his learning curve should be much much quicker than your average freshman

I think both incoming freshmen QBs will be very competitive this fall. May the best one of the four start.

I fully expect Worley or Peterman to be the starter in the fall.

As an aside, I think Charlie high will turn some heads in the fall while everyone is expecting to hear about Dobbs and Ferguson. I don't think any of the 3 freshmen will see PT this year though.

No, Ferguson will not be the starter this fall, possibly next year, if ever.

For the life of me I don't understand why officianado's think a true freshman is going to walk on in August, learn the offense overnight and be remotely competitive in the SEC. This ain't high school no matter what your record.
